Don Jon - God I swear Joseph Gordon-Levitt is probably one of the best actors out there at the moment, all of his movies have been very good so far. The movie isn't about some stupid romance comedy bullcrap, it actually has a solid point and explores a lot of the social conventions that take place between guys and girls. Not to mention, the movie was extremely realistic, very possible of all happening. Great Movie 8.5/10

    Metallica: Through The Never

I would have to give it a 9/10. Just saw it in Imax 3D and it blew my socks off. I'm a huge Metallica fan, so that's partly why I loved it so much, but the concert footage was absolutely awesome to see. Such a grand scale. The traditional movie portion of it was very interpretive, it was up to you to put thought into it to get a message out of it.

Mainly it was awesome to see the band on the big screen. Definitely worth going to see if you like the band.

Went to see Riddick 3 yesterday. I enjoyed it quite a lot being a fan of the two previous movies.

Though the end was quite.. unsatisfying compared to the rest of the movie. Removing the ending, it was pretty great and I'll go with a 6.5/10. A problem with it is that it looked way too like the first movie. Stuck in a place. Buttloads of monsters outside. Them going outside to kill and survive. Meh, that ruined it quite a lot.

    Going with a 4.5/10 overall.

I don't even really like Metallica, but it was a fun movie to watch.

Gravity seems like an Oscar movie, along with Prisoners and perhaps Rush.

Finally got around to watching Pacific Rim last night. Was a bit mindless, unbelievable and incredibly predictable but hey - a lot of action, looked good, fun times, highly entertaining, and I'm a massive Idris Elba fan (from watching the tv series Luther) so 7/10 for me for a fun action movie.

What's to predict? The plot is just a stick for the fights and setting imo. Like saying Avatar is predictable.

found a copy of pacific rim online yesterday, fucking loved it.

it's the monster movie i've longed for, it's obviously not not a deep drama but still has a decent plot, it's a fun action film with big fecking monsters and dudes in robot suits laying the smack down - whats not to enjoy.

every other monster movie has dissapointed me, the closest i got to satisfaction in a recent monster movie was the king kong versus the T-rex's fight in the king kong remake. other than that, you only get glimpses of the monsters and they're never world threateningly huge. pacific rim satisfied me, to the point where i could rewatch it almost as often as star wars.

and as someone who grew up watching the star wars trilogy every night, that's saying something. (although that was probably over the course of 6 months, not my entire childhood, but shit man, i loved those films, i now love this film)

Just saw Pitch Perfect today. That was a ton better than I was expecting. 9/10

    Gravity
Thousands of miles above the Earth's surface, adrift through orbit, "Gravity" feeds on the oft' unthought of fear of the vast dangers of space. With many movies you'll see a trailer or hype that a film can't live up to, that's the exact opposite of this space epic. Not only does this film steal your breath in jaw-dropping visuals and suspenseful it captivates you to completely emotionally cheer on this woman you have barely known, and dwells subtly (but with complete focus and clarity) on *MINOR THEMATIC SPOILER* the theme of rebirth, starting anew. *MINOR THEMATIC SPOILER ENDED*

The direction in this film is absolutely outstanding, and you can see it with every single shot, with a screenplay that ties everything together with complete and utter detail (there is only one small segment which I thought was realistically questionable, although I'll need a second viewing to make a final judgement), it sucks you into orbit within the first 30 seconds of the movie and it doesn't let you go until the credits roll out. You can tell everything within the film was finely crafted with Cuaron's subtle touch, even the way sound is shown through the movie creates a powerful, realistic style. I'm not going to dwell to far into anything because I don't want to spoil anything but let me just say that it is breathtaking shot, after breathtaking shot, after breathtaking shot, it is impeccably beautiful.

There were only two actual performances in the movie (Bullock and Clooney), but by golly are they great. Clooney provides great support throughout various points of the movie while Bullock firmly carries her weight throughout, she fully captivates her character and ultimately helps to elevate the theme Cuaron is portraying with the film. While, I cannot say if Bullock has the Oscar or not yet, I can definitely confirm that she will be nominated for this (and I can also pretty much guarantee nominations for Best Picture, Director, Cinematography, Visual Effects, Original Score, Screenplay, and other various awards as well).

Speaking of original score, Steven Price does a phenomenal job at the musical score for this film. The soundtrack comes in at all the right moments, he plays the silence at all the right moments, and the compositions are probably the most memorable work I have heard this year, with fantastic range. Steven Price is definitely a composer to look out for.

Overall, despite the fact that I really want to talk about a lot of the shots and gravity behind them, I won't (for this review at least) for the mere fact that it is a review and the average person has not seen it yet. Creating an ingenious depiction of collapsing and returning to your feet through rebirth, Gravity is the must-see movie of the year where everything balances out perfectly. 10/10

    Trick 'R Treat

    6/10

Saw this for the Shocktober thing (new "horror" every day), but it didn't interest me at all. Tbh it felt like a horror movie for teen kids or something. It isn't scary, it isn't good, it gave me nothing really. You know, just make it a 5/10. It's basically Halloween (surprise!) in a small American town which truly takes it to the next level. You follow like 4 groups or people separately which ultimately tie together in the end, but there really isn't a real relation between the groups or people. It's all just quite "meh" and when I thought the movie was going to become a bit darker or real, it was almost over. Not much happens, not much makes sense (though that doesn't really matter in a "horror" movie), the acting wasn't great either.

Meh, not really you something you should have to see.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0862856/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Tbh the 6,7 on IMDB is quite high.

    Riddick: 7,5.

Slow start, very stupid 'professionals', but entertaining to say the least: old school Science Fiction Horror.

Lincoln: Aside from Lewis's performance as the man himself... what the hell did I watch? Seriously. I wanted to punch Spielberg in the end, I hate the movie that much. 2/10

Prisoners is a pretty good flick. One of those movies that really gets blood boiling (in that way that movies do when they are about child abductions or any sort of child abuse , etc) Hard to tell a lot without giving it away but it's safe to say Hugh Jackman keeps on demonstrating his range as an actor , every line delivered makes them feels bro.

Sorry not too good at reviews, i give it a 8.5 / 10 or somewhere theres about. Definitely a good watch if you get the chance.

Gravity - 10/10. I really loved this movie, and it's one of the few movies that is worth seeing in IMAX and 3D. Beautiful cinematography, great acting, and I was on the edge of my seat up until the very end. I would totally recommend it. Probably one of the most intense movies I've ever seen.
