    guys, on another site, the article reads, "...was told by staff no one could help her until an ambulance was called. To a hospital. 'It was horrible. It really was. Everybody who walked through the door stopped and stared at me,' said Wallace..."

    don't you think, perhaps, in this newspaper, there was a new paragraph, with one line that partially cut off the word "everybody" and continues on to the next column of text, using the hyphen, in typical newspaper fashion?
