Yes
No
Would a meteor with the size of Texas wipe out earth?
Not every n00b is a bad player, but every bad player is a n00b.
Short answer, yes.
Shorty-lon, yes, the speed it's coming would put a pretty massive dent in the Earth. Let's just say, it'll look exactly like the Death Star.
it would wipe out any life on earth, but I doubt it will destroy the place
By wiping out earth I mean destroying every living organism on the planet.
Not every n00b is a bad player, but every bad player is a n00b.
Well, it wont get destroyed, could break in half or something and create a second moon. It just, wont be able to have life on it like there is now because the surface will be on fire, literally. In a few hundred even thousand years, life will start over again. *Cue "It's the Circle of Life"
Just googling/checking Wikipedia, the asteroid that scientists think wiped out the dinosaurs was only 6 miles wide.
Absolutely no doubt that a meteor the size of Texas would kill everything on earth.
The speed at which it hits plays a huge role. A meteor hitting earth at 10,000 mph vs a meteor hitting at 900,000,000 mph leave quite a different looking earths.
But I have to say it wouldn't. It would cause a global black out because of dust flying out and blocking the sun and so forth, but people would survive. A LOT of people would die, but many would survive.

"If the asteroid is a mile in diameter, it's likely to wipe out life on the planet."
So yeah, if it's the size of TEXAS...
If I go crazy then will you still call me Superman?
I'm sure humanity will wipe itself first
