My best friend's younger brother seems a lot like you. He is very insecure of his looks and can express it quite often if his feelings aren’t warm. For some time, his sister and I used to tell him that he looks perfectly fine and should be able to get any woman especially if he lets his humorous side guide him. He eventually told me he liked me and asked me out. We did a few dates but I never saw him that way—so it was futile. In the end of the day, he is limited to a pool of fish and still needs to execute decently well to have a shot.

Gamdwelf, I think you’re quite realistic. Women probably crawl for Duronos or Bolly or the guy from Israel a few dozen pages back but they will not crawl for you. Telling you that it will happen if you did this or that is a horrible advice, but everyone is right when they say that you should be less negative, stay fit, and dress and groom better. At the end of the day, realize that you will get rejected and very likely a lot but if you want someone—regardless of how demoralizing it becomes, you’re going to have to pick yourself up and try again.
