Would putting a 10.5V charger into a 9v device do any damage to it?

the car charger for my police scanner crapped out and i need it to be on all the time so i know when there are fire/EMS calls. I found the charger to my portable dvd player and its 9v but the portable dvd player car jack is 10.5v. would that do any damage to the scanner if its only a lil bit more voltage?

It might work and be okay. It also might totally fail and burn out some transistors and destroy your scanner. You should go buy a new power supply.
