I'll reconsider my thoughts on purchasing this...maybe tomorrow I'll pick it up

Loving this game in 32 player mode atm, 64 player is good but only 2 maps really suit it atm which are caspian and and firestorm, when back to karkhand comes out its going to be epic for 64 player.
there are a few bugs and some balancing issues but all in all im enjoying it as much as i enjoyed cod mw 1.
This game is awesome. I wasn't sure about it because when it comes to FPS's I'm a CS fanboy, and am known to divulge in MW2. The FPS part isn't as good as those in my opinion, but flying helicopters is just awesome.
WTB more people on the MMO server!
About the EA dramma.
It is, literally, nothing. It is just a form of marketing research, nothing more. Yes, they can see what you got. That information will be used to send you emails about their products, it is to profile the customer in order to tend to their needs.
EA is not the only one who does it. They are however, way more open about it then other companies. This is a valid and well performing strategy for any kind of company that tries to sell products. The company of your toilet paper would do this if they had the chance. It has been around for a while. They teach about this stuff in marketing 101.
Your privacy is in no danger. They couldn't care less about your porn. They do care about the types of games you play. The reaction is way over the top. I'm not trying to defend EA here, I'm defending their strategy however. It works. It's been done before. Perhaps some nice wording in the EULA would fix this outrage though, so their PR has dropped the ball again.
"So, he sent a succubus to seduce you, and lure you down to his side. And yet, first thing you do is to check her ass? Ah, kid, you've got much to learn.."
The whole starting shot for this good ol' scheblang is that in the first public edition of the EULA it was stated that (paraphrased) "EA can sell your personal information to third-party operators" or whatever, and since then they have changed it and probably fired a few bad lawyers who wrote it, but the big scare still remains.
People will be scared no matter what you do because they think they are entitled to their own privacy about this situation, but they would give it up without knowing it if they were led to believe they get something in return.
Your usage data can help them fix bugs for example. That's more than a good enough example for me to allow it. What's likely to happen however is that EA will notify me for about a sale on their NFS series or other shooters. They will not tell me about their new expansion about Sims. I like my time not getting wasted by deleting through bullshit mail, and instead, something that would even excite me like a good DLC on one of my games.

i would reccomend it sure there are some issues, but its less than a week old. and 90% of the problems can be fixed in a few minutes. and once you are use to Battlelog is actually pretty good, a lot quicker and smoother than previous server browsers if i am honest. but the in game loadout menu and esepcially the spawn menu kinda suck, and are not very practical. but i am hoping Dice are going to update them eventually. but very few bugs actually in game, most are client side / on your pc from my experience. there is an issue of some walls you cant seem to hop over, your guy does the jumping over animation, but then slides back down the wall and you go nowhere.

i will play on the mmo server when it gets set to hardcore mode!
Actually I would not recommend it if you are like me. I'm tired of getting shot while going "coo" or "cor" at the scenery. I'm playing through the campaign and I had to wear my sunglasses in my room with the lights down, because there was a car parked with its headlights on facing my screen.
I walked out of a building into sunlight and I forgot to keep pressing W.
I realized I would be completely useless in a war because I can't, for the life of me, make a distinction in a dark environment about the bad guy unloading a tidal wave of machine gun rounds towards me.
Seriously man, it looks so fucking awesome. And it plays so fucking awesome too. You can easily make distinctions between guns, and how their firing mode affects you. You can easily find a gun that suits your playstyle, and that's just campaign experience.
Disclaimer: On PC with Ultra graphics. Rated M for Mature.

another annoyance on the game:
WHY THE HELL CANT I WEAR SUNGLASSES
seriously, on some maps you cant see the enemy because the sun glare is so bright, your screen just turns white while you get shot at. i demand sun glasses.
I wear them in my room but it ain't working why it ain't workin'!
PS: I'm flinching my eyes too, like Leonardo DiCaprio in inception.

20 fly hours in the attack helicopter :3 I <3 this game
I disagree. I think the glare is extremely realistic, especially when you consider every game that has come before it. I imagine that the people you are playing as have their goggles down, hence the glare and shine and dirt effects on the screen.
Also, having an option to turn down glare would give you an advantage. The sun glare is just as important in combat as the flashlight or laser site. If I'm attacking someone and the sun is to my back I know 2 things - One Im casting a shadow for them to see and two, the sun is in their eyes.
Don't really have time atm to go through 110 pages, but I read it has some kinda built-in spyware from Origin, what exactly is the story on that?
woudlnt it be just as realistic to wear some sort of shades? dont they do that in the real army anyway?
it may look cool and everything, but its kind of annoying, the flashlight and such are ok, they are player controlled, anyone can use them etc. but on some maps it gives the other team an advantage, , you can see them because of the blinding light :\
