Basically every level before it only had 100-200 hp mobs, then suddenly on the final wave everything had about 400 + the Ogre had 25,000. You must mean the forge level near the beginning, 2nd one I believe. Yeah, that's a bitch. Do it on easy :P
The game seems a bit overtuned when you first start out, but after leveling some, it'll be easy on medium
