Sony shutting down LittleBigPlanet online services

The above NeoGAF link gives all of the links and such, but:

1, 2, 3, PSP, VITA, and Karting are shutting down in Japan on July 31st.

PSP is shutting down in North America and Europe on July 31st.

Karting will shut down for North America and Europe on August 31st.

So that means no more LBP games for sure then. I had 2,which was awesome. Played Kart, also fun, but every thing looks second class compared to Mario Kart no matter how good the game is. I heard 3 didn't do so hot, probably leading to the downfall of the franchise and Sony leaning on other studios for casual games.

Is anyone else upset that they haven't made a second Modnation racers? That would have been so much better than littlebigplanet karting any day. The freedom of building a functional racetrack is what good karting games like Mario Kart lack. I've actually been secretly hoping nintendo would allow this functionality on their mario kart franchise.. it would be so fun using the gamepad to draw a track, and the TV to elevate, curve, slope the track, and add details like buildings, foliage, and characters around.
