You'll love Auckland then. The weather changes 3x a day!
No, instead it's in the Australian answer to Wales!

Yeah, water moccasins ain't a joke. Nasty bites, and big enough to be a threat to most pets and even children.

Ewww no. My only contact with snakes ever (1) this glass jar of wine my grandpa kept under the counter at his restaurant, (2) shed skin in the electricity box thingie (somebody tell me name of this thing? that has all the switches for the electricity in the house), and (3) this snake that grandma killed with an umbrella when we were out walking.

And I'm perfectly happy to keep it to just that!

Isn't that in some random small town in the middle of nowhere though? My impression of New Zealand has always been that there's only one city: Auckland.

Haha! Didn't you live near Tiveden?

Snakes be everywhere, especially when it's warm in summers and you walk in places with lots of rock, you can spot them lying on the rocks warming themselves up in the sun!

I'm not familiar enough with snakes to know for sure, but its head looks like the copperheads and cottonmouths where I grew up, so it might be a viper. If it is, yes, very bitey.

People have huge misconceptions as to how a snake feels, its shockingly soft. I highly recommend actually petting one and getting a surprise.

And Everything Nice I'd stick to stroking non-poisonous snakes, if you come via Karlstad you can pet ours.

heh. That isn't their capital, but yea Auckland is the only really large city, although Wellington certainly had some commercial stuff. Te Papa is amazing.

And yes, hot water beach is 'in the middle of nowhere' but there is a town around it with food places and places to sleep.

Viper be "Huggorm"(As it's called in Swedish )!

Not particularly dangerous to an adult but could be to small kids and smaller animals.

Also, that picture is a "snok".

Yeah, it's a great way to get bit. If you go hiking in warmer months out here, it's very important to be wearing a good pair of boots and jeans in case you startle a snake that was sunning itself. Getting bit by a copperhead isn't fun.

There's a bridge underwater that leads to the ancient city of Alcytop.

If you go there, you'll learn the answer to everything, but you have to get past the 13 guardians first.
