Hey guys, I've been using askmrrobot for a while to help me figure out reforging to hit those hit/haste breakpoints with the rest in crit. With the Immerseus trinket being so peculiar, I'm not sure askmrrobot is correctly modeling the bonuses it provides. Anyone with some insight/advice on what to do with this dilemma?

Currently I'm using AMR with custom stat weights to get my 10,289 haste breakpoint, but I feel AMR isn't optimizing it good enough and therefore loosing a lot of crit. Is it still worth going for the breakpoint with the gear I have and have less crit than haste? Maybe anyone here have another solution for my crit to go up, but still have the haste cap.

Yep reforging and gemming is fine to me, you can drop as low as 6 or 7k crit to get the 10289 breakpoint so you're definitely fine with 10k crit at this point.

Don't worry so much about all the haste gems, as you get more items you'll find yourself able to swap them out and gain more crit but or now your gear setup is spot on.

Hey, only thing I can see that is really hurting you is your Shooting Stars usage. Same problem I'm having, in truth. Looks like you're more or less using about a third of your procs. I'm no pro at reading logs, but getting optimal usage out of those would definitely boost your dps.

Hello fellow boomchickens!


I just recently started playing balance and have joined a weekend guild and we are progressing super fast (10/14h after month and a half)

Long story short I main a warlock so I know the fights we are progressing on already however I am finding myself having trouble pulling competitive numbers.

I am going to link my armory and the logs from this past lockouts clear. If you guys have any suggestions or see issues with my rotation ect I would really appreciate the help.

The gear I have equipped in some slots (trinkets mainly) are not the best option however its the best I have seen drop so far.

Improper use on CDs (I looked at Nazgrim kill), meh trinkets, legendary chain items and possibly the fact that he broke T15 2p for a LFR chest offpiece (I say possibly cause he could never had it in the first place) all factor in for the low dmg.

I just started again playing moonkin cause my guild needed it. (I paused for 6 months and was cat before that).
The last time i played Boomkin was at Cataclysim , so my gear and knowledge were pretty bad.
After 3 Weeks farming my Gear is already fine , but my DPS really sucks. I looked a bit throug WoL but couldn't find that much.

So i have recently swapped back to boomy picked so some boomy items and swapped most of my resto gear to boomkin, my gear isn't the greatest but i feel i'm under performing. The only log i have is from our regular garrosh kill last night so it's not much to go on, but any little bit of help or insight in what i'm doing wrong here would be greatly appreciated.

Your gear is alright for what it is. I'm a bit new to WCL, but from what I can see, you were on the engineer and weren't killing the warbringers. You only used your CDs twice in a 9min 50 sec kill, where you'd likely be able to use them 3, or even 4 times, depending on when they come of cd (during intermission, ~1m before p3 burn phase etc). What have you bound your Synapse Springs to? It's a 1 min cd, and you used to 3 times.

I can see you did not use CDs on pull, but rather waited 4 minutes to use them the first time (you could've easily used them on pull). If you're using your CDs with the lunar route (whether this is on pull or mid-fight), you should not keybind your Synapse Springs or Berserking to Incarnation, but rather to Celestial Alignment, as you'll do more damage during CA, and they both only last for 10 seconds. Your Nature's Grace uptime seems low, you should try and minimise movement as much as you can. Even if you have to do things like killing the Siege Engineer, you could ask your warlock for a gateway, consider getting Displacer Beast to blink back and forth from it.

Greets all... I'm a 556 boomy no meta no cloak. DPS is around 200k single target, and areas I think that can be improved are faster cycle times to get higher NG uptime. I'm looking for advice on dotting and refreshing moon/sunfire. Also noticed I am wasting 24% of my SS procs, so should I cancel hardcasts anytime I proc?

can someone please give me some tips on managing nature's grace in multi-dot situations? i feel like i'm a strong moonkin, but this is the one point where i can definitely improve.


i have a pretty strong grasp on when hurricane is the best option - but what are the general rules people follow for 3-4 targets, or 5-6 targets that are too spread out for AOE. I feel like the biggest thing hurting my dps right now is dotting too much and losing nature's grace uptime.

Right now what I'm usually doing is putting both dots on all targets and starsurging, using wrath/starfire as filler in between procs.

A lot of times nature's grace runs off during these hardcasts and it takes forever to get back into eclipse. Should I focus on just a couple of targets? Use only one dot? Only dot inside nature's grace? I don't really know.

Back before I took a break these issues really became obvious on Horridon. How do quality boomkins handle multi-dotting on a fight like that, or say, Will of the Emperor?

In a heavy multi-dot situation, I would put both dots on the main kill target and the eclipsed dot on other targets while not using more than 5-6 GCDs on dotting. This will allow you to have enough NG to get you into or close to the next eclipse.

For your gear, you're ignoring the socket bonuses in your helm/shoulders/chest/gloves/etc and losing a lot of int because of it. Also that cleave trinket you have is pretty garbage but I'm guessing that's the best you have since this is your OS.

You should be using Heart of the Wild of Nature's Vigil. Instead of using Glyph of Barkskin, I would use Guided Stars so you get more boss damage with your Starfall or use Glyph of Rebirth.

I use Tellmewhen to track DoTs, trinket procs, and CD's among other things. It's a great alternative to WeakAuras.

Hello all, I feel that I've been lacking lately. The other boomkin in my guild stopped raiding and I no longer have someone to compete with and measure myself against. In addition we're working on siege, and any help you have there would be awesome. I don't find myself ranking on farm bosses, I am raid leading, but in the past that hasn't been a large issue (even though we don't set up fights for people to rank). My starsurge waste didn't seem as bad as I would think, but I still think there's more to do.

Yes, I'm aware my flex immerseus trinket sucks ass. It makes me sad.

First of all, treants don't snapshot anything. They update dynamically (albeit with a slight delay) with your stats. This includes any procs which affect your stats.

Second, they do not benefit from damage buffs (increased % damage done) you gain. This includes eclipses, Jin'rokh pools, etc. They will of course benefit from increased damage taken to target (Elegon, Horridon, etc.).
