When is Patch 4.1?
People keep asking when Patch 4.1 is, the only thing we know is that the release isn't imminent. We didn't see any Release Candidate build on the PTRs and Blizzard is still implementing things left and right. If I had to give an estimation I would say the patch will hit the live servers before the end of the month if we're lucky, but definitely not before that.

For a quick recap of the Patch 4.1 features, check out the following articles:

Meh.... don't even care about these patch delays anymore.... this game is clearly on its last leg.

Like everyone else I totally love that Org wallpaper! I do have one teeny gripe about it. All the guards are the same exact orc. No skin color variation, no different hairstyles, they're all the exact same model. Other than that it is totally amazing!

Say the patch comes last week of April which is most likely will, they won't put 4.2 on the PTR until beginning of June the earliest. Then another 2-2 1/2 months before it goes live. For the first time in four years I'm really dissapointed in Blizz. Going from 3.0 to ulduar was only about five months.
So you work for blizzard and can 100% confirm that 4.2 wont be on the ptr till june? Cause if you do thats pretty cool if not you need to stop talking like you know whats gonna happen. If this patch was 4.0.9 no one would be as upset as they are. I personally laugh that people are so upset by this. I still log on raid with my guild 3 days a week do an alt raid 1 day a week pvp 2 days and do 3-4 heroics a day for all my alts. If you cant find something in this game you still enjoy doing maybe you should quit.

The so called "painting" is nothing more than a bunch of copy/paste 3D objects. (The towers are identical, the Orcs -> every single one has the same hair? ^^, the texture on the wall repeats etc..) Yes, it requires a bit of work but it's not THAT good.

What's the point of these new cooking and fishing daily's?

Who goes to Darnassus anyway? Any 4 months after the expansion came out, i bet everyone who wants it is 525 fishing and has all the cooking recipies.

I might be totaly f*cking wrong on this one, but we havent had a major content patch for cataclysm right?
Four months and maybe more for this patch to come out, and not even have the firelands in it, is waaaaay to long.

Also, that orgrimmar picture made my day. Can't see anything in my lackluster life that will top it :<. fml...

You went all the way to DA, checked out the print options on the side, and STILL didn't read what it was? He's selling prints of the image. As in, physical prints. Jegus you guys can be dense.

I'm guessing the Orc's in the photos are MEANT to look alike, if you look at a group of soldiers in real life, almost all the foot soldiers looks identical from afar & exactly how are the towers identical??

Blizzard ought to throw this guy a job offer.

He's incredibly talented. Also, I don't think that Blizzard ever has made any art piece (Maybe except the SCll login screen) in this high textures.

lets hope bliz suddenly suprice us with firelands being in 4.1 at this rate ...

They invested way to much for revamping old zones and not delivering enough new content for level 85 folks. Why should a level 80 guy care about revamped quests chains from 1-60. Yes the revamped zones look nice, but after I flew over them once, I've seen enough and do not wish to revisit, except when I level an alt and even then...

Well if we look at it, 85 is not 90 half the content. Also half the stuff that was shown at Blizzcon was cut from the release game. No guild Talent Trees, no Path of Titans etc. etc. quite sad.

The scattered new zones also don't help the cause. If I want to go to Twilight from Uldum, I have to HS to Orgrimmar and port there, doesn't make sense in the slightest. At least they should make portal hubs in each of the new zone to every new zone - to make them feel coherent. Every major city should have the same portals, cause right now, every city except Orgrimmar and Stormwind is dead - even worse as Darnassus was up to this point.

Dungeons and Raids are fine, but are getting stale now. New content is badly needed.

All in all I think we expect more from the game as the engine is able to deliver without a complete overhaul. Some of us play this game for ~7 years now, so ofc we're going to get bored quicker as people who just picked up with Cataclysms release. That said, I think they should make 2 teams, one that focuses on game content (raids, dungeons, zones, quests, balance, etc..) and one team that tries to move the core game engine forward to new standard, graphic and physics wise - and don't get me wrong, the art style is fantastic, but the low-res everything is not. Instead of having a rivet drawn it could easily be modeled by now, the windows could be glass instead of flat solid textures by now. We can't even get new high-poly character models, which I think it's really sad and all Blizzard comes up is some excuses.

God damn it, I never ever comment on fan art but that Orgimmar pic is something special. It is now my desktop. I hope they do one for Thunder Bluff!

I hope amazing fan art like this makes Blizzard think hard about fixing the Orgrimmar gate - the only bit of Orgrimmar still in development lol

Releasing 4.1 is taking way too long, seriously it's a minor patch !
  1. crsh1976's Avatar
I'm sort of amazed by how long 4.1 is taking, I don't mean that in a good way; yeah quality is important and we don't want to have something hurled out asap if it's not ready, but we've been hearing about this somewhat minor patch for 2 months already.
  1. mmoc8eb592856e's Avatar
Im not trolling or anything just telling the truth: what a shitty company they've become. All those pets/mounts in store etc. enourmous cash flow but delivering quite shit content for players, like this patch. Reused dungeons, on top of this reused armor, also on top of all things nothing really innovative to be seen. If u are inteligent player enough u will clearly see this patch is nothing but a big filler.
