It all started when we were working on the art books. In the Art of Warcraft book they had highlighted a picture I did that had some hidden names, faces, and such in it.

I've always done things like that, but this was the first time we blatantly pointed it out.

From then on people started looking for hidden faces or pandas in my pictures. It is pretty funny now because people are seeing things in everything.
Even on art that I didn't work on people are saying, "Look! There's a panda face!"

I don't see how saying your comment was fine, but it was going against what I remembered when I talked LIVE to Samwise at Blizzcon makes me a 'bigheaded knowitall', but okay. I guess we're in second grade again. ๏[-ิ_•ิ]๏

Read what you just posted. "I've always done things like that, but it was the first time we blatantly pointed it out." That doesn't mean right there, concrete, seal it and send it away means that's where the panda's were made. That's just the first time people pointed it out.
Someone else posted about his daughter and the card, which I do recall him saying AT BLIZZCON.

I think the trailer is brilliant. Maybe the best so far. Love the human model and animations.

I actually liked it. Watched it a few times over. good job, Blizzard.

Like it was on Illidan's blades, back in the day, just put it on there. See if anyone noticed. And they did. Good job, guys. Two points. And ever since then it's just been kind of a thing. We're like "Oh, you're the panda guy."

I didn't get any adventure, and no awesome and massive negative on epic and 'impeding doom'. which are a whole lot of thumbs down...

There ofc are other factors to count in to this in my decision, and they go against the fun part as well, but as this is about the trailer I won't go into that. Let's say like this: If I hadn't had a clue about the game - MMOs - and WoW in particular but was looking at a game to play - I would have stopped looking half way through, while the BC trailer actually made me buy both Vanilla WoW without even knowing what an MMO was (hence why I didn't realize I had to buy BC to get to play a BELF - sent me back to the shop the next day to get it)

This was awesome!

Download in 1080P, watch it in 5.1 or better yet 7.1 with some booming subs and comeback and tell me this cinematic is not epic as F@#K! Seriously some of you need to get laid and now.

M8, you are wrong. Period. I actually own the book he is talking about. By then he was drawing pandas into his pictures for years.

Personally I think this trailer is a fail compared to the work Blizzard did on the other expansion Cinematics. Excluding the plot of the cinematics (which is not something I like too much as well) I think the quality of the cinematics graphics/models itself is a total lackluster...... just compare it to the wotlk cinematic and you will see for yourself.

All I can say is: "Blizzard I expected much higher quality from you on this one...."

They didn't ask him how the Pandaren came to exist. They asked him if he used any sort of hidden calling cards involving the Pandaren. He pointed out that he does put Pandas sometimes as hidden easter eggs in his work, and it only become something people really looked for when the Art of WarCraft book came out.

The genesis of the Pandaren came about because a long time ago Samwise got nicknamed the Panda by his brother. Later on when he had a kid, she got sick, and he drew some Japanese inspired art of himself as a Panda Samurai with a small baby cub (representing his daughter) on his back as he protected her. The artwork got out onto the internet at some point and started the fan speculation of an Asian inspired panda race in WarCraft, which in turn caused aforementioned craze in finding all his hidden panda teasers in his artwork.

They have been running with it since.

One thing that confuses me is all the people getting their nickers in a twist about the comedy. WoW has ALWAYS been fairly light hearted, its not Warhammer 40k and its GRIMDARK!!!

WoW has always had a lighter side with dark moments, and those dark moments are in Pandaria. Almost from the get-go in fact you have child slavery, demonic possession, massacres and more. Yeaaaah thats really 'AMG ITS DIZNEMY!!>DO!N?!)ONE!' isn't it. To those who are just looking at it and doing a manga arm wobbly flail thing, try the beta, actually look at the GAME rather than the Intro before making up your mind.

Regarding the Orc I hope that we are re-modeled to look like them. The Orc model in game at the moment is based on the Warcraft III peon, Orc's are more upright and less hunched than the peon if you look at WCIII. But for some reason unknown to man or science, they based the models on the peon. If anything the Orc model will probably be based on Thrall. I just hope they change the running animation as he runs like he's really REALLY gotta pee.

For games I have knowledge in or actually like already a trailer is more of a "This is AWESOME!" thing as opposed to "You know what, I'll buy that", for example the Black Ops II trailer just made me more excited for it the same way the Halo 4 trailer did and the way the Gears of War Judgement one will, but this I was already going to buy and it has entertained me.

However you do need to keep in mind that this is the cinematic in GAME and it is not supposed to make you want to buy it, it is there for those who already have the game or want to see it without getting it like so, it has no marketing purpose in its design, maybe the way it is delivered but it is not designed to sell the game.

It was good but no contest for wotlk one that one gives me chills every time i watch it
