Sorry...I didn't sleep last night, I'm getting all philosophical. My brain seems to function at a higher level when I'm sleepy.
You can ignore this if you want. I was bored, started thinking, and had a keyboard in front of me; a dangerous combination.
Have you ever stopped to ask yourself, "What's my sin?" It's something that crossed my mind the other night at work, and, like most of my thoughts, I couldn't put it to rest until I fleshed it out completely.
I'm not a religious person, but I can acknowledge that we all have them and there is always that one that is most dominant in each of us.
After much debating with myself, I narrowed it down to two:
- Sloth - I'm lazy. I've never hid it, never had a problem acknowledging it... I hate working, especially for free or without a reason, and would rather sit and do nothing for days at a time than go to work. I want a job where I can get paid well to sit on my ass and do nothing all day.
- Envy - Seeing other people happy when I can't achieve some degree of happiness myself is painful for me. When people have things, that I can't/don't have, I get angry. I try to be nice about it, and I hide it well, but it doesn't stop me from being angry. I want what others have. When they're happiness is taken from them, I can't help but want to smile...even though it makes me feel guilty afterwards.
It was (and to some degree still is) a tough decision, but ultimately:
Green is my color.
