It was gonna be December, but got moved to March because of the Star Wars movie's
date being dangerously close to Warcraft's original December date.

Source Code and Moon were up there for best movie in their respective years and all the main actors in Warcraft have been in major A list movies so I don't know what you mean? Not only that, but every actor has been a major player in GREAT, big budget blockbuster movies. The budget is questionable for it being motion capture though. Then again, I've never heard 100 million, but close to 250 million.
Toby Kebbell - Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Wrath of the Titans, Prince of Persia. Doctor Doom in The Fantastic Four (2015)
Travis Fimmel- main character in the show Vikings.
Paula Patton - Mission Impossible series, Deja Vu, Precious, 2 Guns
Dominic Cooper- Captain America, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, The Devil's Double
Ben Foster- Lone Survivor, 3:10 to Yuma, The Mechanic
Clancy Brown (legend) - The Shawshank Redemption, Starship Troops, Highlander, Pet Semetary
Robert Kaninzsky- Pacific Rim, Red Tails
Daniel Cudmore- Collusus in X-Men Series.
All A list movies, some listed in the top 250 on IMDB, most have awards beside their names.

You are honestly comparing a new movie to already well established titles? That's silly.

not having A list actors is a good thing. theres some really good actors in it though for example Travis Fimmel from vikings tv series. its proberly one of the best tv series out there and his acting is superb.
It will be another Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Avatar, Dragon Ball, and other equally bad movies.
It doesn't need A list or even much publicity or draw to those outside of wow players to be successful. Blizzard just needs to add the achievement See the World of Warcraft movie 10 times and get a pet a mount and title.
So, although Robert Downey Jr. got an Oscar nomination for Chaplin (and lost it to a shitty and totally forgotten Pacino performance) and should have got one for Less Than Zero, he got his "break" in Iron Man?
It's interesting that you would think that.
Downey was an A-lister from his days in the brat pack, but he was too much into substances for big-dollar projects to afford for a decade or so, because, insurance and general nuisance. It was Tropic Thunder that put him back on the map.

You mean movies that hardly took their subject seriously in any way (aside from MK to
an extent,) if there was deep-ish lore, didn't stick to it; and all around didn't really strive
to be anything?
And Avatar just focused on effects and ignored story and character. As well as sense,
really...
EDIT: Mortal Kombat is awesome, even if it's silly as fel.
Um, no, LOTR had a star-studded but relatively affordable cast. It had a bunch of SERIOUS ACTORS (and actresses). A PILE of them. With tons of theatre experience.
Peter Jackson was a respected director although an unknown quantity when it came to running a huge production. It turns out, he was incredibly good at it, at least that one time. He had the entire nation of New Zealand marching in time to him for several years.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0803096/?ref_=nv_sr_1 Look at the cast they don't have some huge blockbuster on their own actor but they do have a deep cast. This is a good sign for the development of multiple characters and a good movie.
"Privilege is invisible to those who have it."
Stuff a movie full of big stars and you nearly always have a recipe for disaster.
"...money's most powerful ability is to allow bad people to continue doing bad things at the expense of those who don't have it."
They told Uwe Boll to fuck off because he wanted to direct it.
They wait 10 years before making it so they could get the right people.
A Budget of over $100 Million
Legendary Pictures who are behind
- Latest Batman
- 300
- Watchmen
- Inception
- Pacific Rim
- Man of Steel
Amongst other Big blockbusters, so it is doubtful that this will turn into a turkey.

The track record for video games is spotty; some did well at the box office (Prince of Persia, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil series), but most are poorly written and acted, and I have always had a sense that most of the people involved in the films did not respect the source material; when Jackson started production on LOTR, he had everyone involved read the books who hadn't already, to insure that there was an emotional investment, and there was also a respect for the passion that LOTR fans have...I can't really see that happening on say, Bloodrayne.
Most of the games fans will probably watch it, and that will provide about $US 50-70 million in box office sales, so even with a marginal marketing campaign, it isn't farfetched to think it can eventually gross in the $200 million range.
Whether it will be a good film though, remains to be seen.
"Can't you see this is the last act of a desperate man?"
"We don't care if it's the first act of Henry the Fifth, we're leaving!"
Dude, it has Travis Fimmel playing someone there. What else can you ask for?
It might be decent. I doubt I'll watch it, though - it's set during a period of the lore that doesn't involve the playable races that I care about and once again ends up revolving around orcs and humans - something which I've become very weary of in fantasy settings.
The lack of A-listers is a good thing, more money to spend on the actual production of the film and it's audience will probably be more aimed at lore fans than Michael Bay fans.
I'm not expecting the movie to be a success tbh, but if it's any good, who gives a damn about that.
It's going to be as A-List as possible. Don't expect MARVEL type quality. Don't get me wrong, they are pouring TONS of $$$ into this, but they just don't have the production, cast, and backing like an A+ type movie like MARVEL movies, etc. BUT!!! I can't wait to see it, I WILL BE at the midnight showing!
