Technically, it is a genre of game. But so far, it's mostly been novel rather than game, unlike Phoenix Wright or Danganronpa which are also considered visual novels.

Although apparently it has a very slow start (I'm like 6-7 hours in and it still feels like the prologue)

Yep! I'm loving it so far honestly, it's definitely a nice change of pace from most games!

Also playing Grim Fandango on the side too though, so I guess I'm going through two games that are pretty unique!
