It's ridiculous that people believe the number of abilities largely affects the complexity of the game. It's even more ridiculous to think that this pruning issue is a matter of hardcore vs casual.
Is it really "hardcore" to learn 3 more abilities in a rotation? You'll still get used to it after a day. The real complexity should come from the situation. I'd rather have 5 skill-shot abilities than an 8 ability rotation. My point is that there are more important things that give the game complexity than the number of buttons you can press.
