It became clear that it wasn’t realistic to try to get the audience back to being more hardcore, as it had been in the past. -- Tom Chilton
I don't buy wow token at any price because it costs more irl money than normal subscription.
Don't care if it's my money or someone else
THE HORDE WILL ENDURE
THE HORDE IS STRONG!
I'm pretty surprised that the EU price hasn't come down and it's been about three weeks. NA price has been ticking upwards as well. I guess fewer people are putting them up for sale and the market bears it because of all the people printing money with garrisons.
I also found my time was running out a few days ago on the US and I looked at the token price. Since I log in like once a week now. Even over 40k to me was just too much. So I let my game time expire and I just test the Legion Alpha to see what I can do to help with game development. My guild was done WoD raiding anyway.
At least we can say that after several tries, they managed to create working gold dump. WoW token (sub for gold) is the first somewhat decent way to spend gold I saw in long time. Crafted mounts are one-time money drop. Same with crafted gear (which I do myself on main, and don't do at all on alts).
Barely the case actually.
https://wowtoken.info/ will show you the yearly quotation for every region. And you can see that EU and US curves are pretty much identical. They follow the same trend and in game change have the same impact.
What makes EU price higher are the eastern countries with lower wages. For polish, czech, hungarian, russian 20€ for a token is really expensive when they may earn somethine between 500-900€/mo. Same goes for the sub cost in real money. So they are also more inclined to buy token with gold instead of money.
So EU and US follow the same trend, just not at the same prices. BUt when one is rising, the other is too. US price also spiked patch day (don't forget EU patch day is one day later, token impact will be different on the micro scale).
Actually, that's kinda weird, since today a lot of people are returning back to WoW.Well,I suppose, that people aren't buying the gold anymore, since one of the main boosting features - challenge modes - are gone.
I don't really like to pay to access my garrison yet again, that has even lost it's way to generate gold effectively :P Once demon invasions start to happen, then there's at least something new to do and a reason to sub!
Gold income goes down in Legion
Player count goes up when Legion comes out
Result will be cheaper tokens, but that will take a while as the millionaires will overpay for early blues and epics in Legion as that always happens for new expansions. In addition to other gold sinks such as the expensive mounts
I bought 24 tokens when they were 40k on EU. It was cheaper then because A: More people played the game, and B: Because gold inflation was not as bad as it is now.
Right now we have the richest WoW players ever, that will go down and so will token prices. The best thing you can do right now is to do nothing. Let everyone else spend their gold on inflated items and mounts and just wait 3-4 months into Legion. I suspect the token will cost 50k by then.

Fact (because I say so): TBC > Cata > Legion > ShaLa > MoP > DF > BfA > WoD = WotLK
