Ok, just so you know, this is industry-wide. Not just Blizzard - nobody goes in or out of any AAA game devs. Remember how ten years ago we had so many game leaks? Yeah, not anymore. These businesses invested thousands upon thousands in security, which is what Kern is referring to.

Blizzard had ten years to debunk Kern's claims. They didn't. He even offer to go deliver the petition by hand. Nobody who left on a bad note would do that.

I think they should demand 1 year passes for legacy servers if they would make any - so if people really would want to play, then they would have to commit with a chunk of their money which fits the totally unnessesary extra investment for Blizzard.

Because they have a strong historic. Kern's opinion has a thousand time more value than what you will ever have at Blizzard.



You have a lot of skepticism about this whole thing since the beginning, which is ok, but his opinion have more value than any stranger. He left in very good terms with Blizzard and he never attacked them. Even now, he recommend them to take a certain course of action - and say that the Blizzard from before isn't the same as today. But it's not an attack. Plus, a lot of the old devs are still there.

You have regular leads, then you have legendary leads who worked on every single blockbuster franchise at Blizzard since release up until the launch of World of Warcraft.

He'll never get direct access and he'll probably be escorted and closely watched if he goes in, but his historic have its weight.

Read again. The majority of people who don't want to pay for the game play vanilla, not because it's the "awesomest thing evah" but becase there's where people gathered around. All it takes is for someone to host a vanilla server and spread the word. If lots of people heard that the server is stable and nice, they'll much rather play on a populated server than on a vacant one, and after said server rises so much its even more expected for people to choose it. Not because its better but because there's more people there.

Because no one wants to play a MMO where the only players are you and that guy that runs the server.
