Manager first promised me second shift at my new position. Then, when it looked like I may not even get the job at all, he asked me if I wanted to do the overnight shift. I told him I couldn't do overnight hours.

Ended up getting the job, starting Saturday. First week, the entire produce department is doing a reset, and I gotta work an overnight shift Monday night. Because reasons. Also, no, not gonna be exclusive second shifts.

I can definitely understand that. Back when I was stock I would go out to look for carts just to get out of the building for a few minutes, good thing is that sometimes the cards were behind the building and across the parking lot in the grocery stores parking lot, so I would be out there for 5-10 minutes.

Authority people decide their event is more important than my weekend.
They cancelled my vacation time so I can work that weekend.

That's some bullshit, best you can do is either complain or call off sick, or actually hurt yourself and ask for days off.

That sucks though, but I'd say try to stick with your current job at least until you know you can hop to another one.
