No that's not what they meant.

To my knowledge there's no 7th released film on April 25 2014.
All right, gentleperchildren, let's review. The year is 2024 - that's two-zero-two-four, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of still-masked clots ridden infertile senile sissies who want the Last Ukrainian to die so they can get on with the War on China, with some middle-eastern genocide on the side

Yeah... I'm not sure what you think I'm talking about, but I was commenting on this:

Post-2014, the official Star Wars canon consists of the seven released Star Wars theatrical feature films
2014 being the milestone when the canon changed, and by then seven films had been made or officially being made. I'm guessing the "released" word was accurate by the time that Wikipedia entry was written or edited.

Turns out it's a case of anyone can edit wikipedia. In original statement they mention 6 films and Clone Wars film separately, but some wise-ass decided to bunlde that as 7 films on wikipedia - there's even a little fight in edit history over it.

I just finished ''Bloodline'', the canon novel between Episode VI and VII.

(I sort of suppose it should go here, instead of making a new thread)

It's really not bad novel, if very political. It explains why Leia is distrusted by the Republic.

A rather hilarious lampshade is that a well known scene of ROTJ is known across the Galaxy too. Leia slaying Jabba in the iconic outtfit. It's rather popular in the seedy parts of the Galaxy, because it's amount to snuff Hutt pornography. It's as illegal in Hutt space as it is popular amongst Hutt ''vassals''.

Avatar Director James Cameron Wasn't a Big Fan of Star Wars 7 - GS News Update.

While Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the most successful film ever released in North America, it was held off the top slot worldwide by Avatar and Titanic. Now James Cameron, who directed both of those box office titans, has spoken about what he thought of the latest Star Wars movie, and it's not hugely positive.

Think they count the Star Wars: The Clone Wars from 2008 as a movie....

Well, there's a limit to how many times you can watch A New Hope.

There's an infinite loop between "JJ obvious" and "cousin"

if Rey and Kyle are cousin then Luke is the fader, hence "JJ obvious"

In order to get to the "cousin" choice you have to answer "no" on "obvious" choice, you cannot change already made choice in the same sequence. The arrow from "cousin-yes" should go directly to Luke not to the "obvious".

He said that the prequels offered new material as far as setting and stoy is concenred and he is right on that.
The execution was horrible but it did offer semething new isntead of a repeat of the same story elements, set pieces and copies of Hoth,Tatooine and Yavin 4.

Having everything green-screened and fake looking isn't what I would call "innovative visual imagination," but to each his own. At least he was smart enough to include the OT in his statement and not single out the prequels in his praise of the movies.

The prequels gave us desert planet, ocean planet, forest planet, big city planet... I don't really see the point.

    What looks more imaginative ?
    Hoth,Tatooine,Endor or Coruscant,Naboo,Kamino,Utapau ?

The prequesl gave much more than that.
The prequels gave Kashyyk,Naboo,Kamino,Coruscant, Mustafar,Geonosis,Utapau ( where big events happend), Felucia,Mygeeto (which were unimportant and only seen for a second).

The point is they gave visual variety, and did introduce new environments instead of recycling the trinity of just ice/desert/forest planet.
Plus they showed planets that actually felt like they belonged in a space opera world instead of just deserted ones.

I actually listened to the whole thing because I'm just leveling alts in WoW and it almost has a podcast type feel to it.

    tl;dr:

    2 main parts:
    1) Debunking the milennials who defend the prequels. Including how it expanded the universe and the lightsaber fights were so cool. Basically, addressing every "rebuttal" to his original review of the prequels.

    2) TFA was well directed and fun, mirrored the original trilogy, and it gets a kinda-sorta pass for being a soft reboot, but it has to go out in new directions from here. He can definitely see the corporate desire to do something safe to re-intro the movie. A little wary of Star Wars being every year from here on out til forever.
