man i hardly ever show cloak.. 1 most look like crap and 2 they don't go well with tabards so it's either tabard or cloak for me.
just make the damn hide function available from anywhere. you can still force us to visit npc's for rest of the stuff.

And this bitching and moaning over a minor change isn't a shit post?
Let me guess, yet another person that refuses to put in bug reports, or be active on the beta forums in a constructive manner? Or wait.. no beta key? If so, make a CONSTRUCTIVE (feel free to look that word up) topic about it on the official forums instead of raging at blizzard like a 9 year old kid that got told it isn't allowed to have candy today.
You don't understand the issue. The issue is that I want to wear something other than plate on my warrior, during RP. There are tons of interesting cloth, leather and mail pieces for RP. Many "RP only" characters are warriors, specifically for the reason that they can (could) wear everything, from silky dresses to pirate hats to all kinds of weapons.
So what use is it if I can level another character to get that cloth piece? Then I have it in my transmog collection, cool, but my Warrior still can't transmog into it.
Previously, I could do the quest and select the cloth item and then just carry it around with me or put it in the bank, and take it out for RP occasions.
That's the problem. And it would be incredibly easy to fix. Just have the current system as the baseline option, for new players and "gogogogo" players who only want the best upgrade. And have an option to tick "show all possible rewards, even if they're not your armor class", for us pesky RP'ers. So that we can still get our pretty dresses and leather hats on our plate and mail characters. Would be much appreciated.
Do RPers even care about stats? They just sell their booty in Elwynn Forest for gold anyways.

Well, I actually didn't complain about anything, just stating the facts. Complain as much as you want, you're only a RPer anyways. I once made a char on a RP realm, best laugh I've had seeing you having officer meetings in Duskwood and selling your booty for some extra gold.
It's not a real hide option, it's an invisible transmog. It's not the same by any stretch of the imagination, and only fools think it makes sense just because it looks "similar" on the very thin surface.
- HIDING the helm keeps your current transmog.
- Doesn't cost anything when hiding or when showing it again.
- Can be done indoors, mounted/flying/on a taxi, in combat, any time.
- Can be done with addons/macros with a single click and no inventory management.
- TRANSMOGGING the helm into an invisible one deletes your current transmog.
- Doesn't cost anything when "hiding" it, but costs gold to show the previous transmog.
- Can't be done indoors, mounted (well, apart from that specific mount)/flying/on a taxi, in combat...
- Can't be done with addons/macros with a single click, or requires inventory management (which, in turn, is limited in situations where you enter combat and creates the "fishing pole/chef hat" situation).
Now, about "other games"...
- In Star Wars: The Old Republic you bring up your character outfits pane, uncheck "show head slot", and done. No cost, no current helm appearance change (that is, you CAN have a helm transmogged AND hide it). Just a real hide option.
- In Wildstar you bring up the Holo-Wardrobe, uncheck the head slot visibility option, and done. No cost, no current helm appearance change (that is, you CAN have a helm transmogged AND hide it). Just a real hide option.
- In Guild Wars 2 you bring up the character pane, uncheck the head slot, and done. No cost, no current helm appearance change (that is, you CAN have a helm transmogged AND hide it). Just a real hide option.
And in all those "other games" you can even transmog your gear everywhere on your own, without the need for any NPC or special mount. Even with that feature, they still have a REAL hide option in them, because it makes sense to have it, so you don't lose your current transmog, and you don't have to fiddle with equipping and unequipping items. They used common sense for that feature.
It would "make sense" to have it tied to the wardrobe if you could bring up the appearances window (that tab next to every other collection) and could hide the slots from there, free of any cost and keeping your current transmog. Or from the character pane, a check mark next to those slots.
The new system can't be made quicker with addons. Right now I have a hide helm/cloak button on the character pane. THAT makes sense, but won't work in Legion because they just had to go and cram the feature (or a similar-but-worse feature) in the new, extremely limited system.
Once upon a time... the end. Next time, try twice upon a time.
Maybe I'm missing something here, but you're complaining about not being able to hide helm/cloak/shoulders via the UI anymore AND you're complaining about not being able to TRANSMOG to non-plate items?
If the latter's the case ... we've never been able to transmog plate to anything but plate. You had to swap to the other non-plate item. It's not really changing in Legion. If you want a pretty dress on a warrior, then just keep it in your bags. All the new system is doing is:
1.) Letting you access transmog you collected on other toons of the same armor type
2.) Letting you delete gear in your banks to free up space
It's not completely removing your ability to get items of other armor types. Sure, you can't get quest reward ones anymore, but meh. You can get a good majority of looks via drops anyway. My favorite dress is one I can get off Malygos or out of Naxx. Even my tailor can make it. If I wanted to RP in it that badly, I'd get one from those sources and just keep it in my bags. But I don't RP so it's a non-issue for me. The only drops you can't get that don't match your armor type are where personal loot is the default and unchanging option ... which is only in LFR anyway.
As for the hide helm/cloak/shoulders, can't say I'm happy it's not in the UI anymore but not a big deal for me. I own the yak. Will get old having a transmog I like and getting a new item that forces me to bring out the yak, though.
So am I missing something with this argument because I'm not seeing much of one honestly? The only thing I get is not being able to use a macro to show/hide your helmet/cloak anymore.
I suppose I can also see complaints about having to pay to unhide the helm/shoulders for those that change their transmog every five minutes, but the idea is that you get out and do something else, not play dress up the entire time. The cost will be negliable if you actually do something besides spend your entire play time transmogging. I was far more concerned with respec having a fee because I regularly change between elemental and resto on my shaman and don't like being penalized. But hey, if it bothers you and enough people enough, then make a large outcry. The revolt with flying got flying back despite Blizzard saying no. We reversed the respec fees, too. If you want something changed, make a mob. Apparently not enough really care to change it, though.
And now an on topic respond? Yet another shitpost as you put it yourself I guess. Please do bring more, keep digging the hole that this topic has become.

Trust me, OP will just rage at you that you have no idea, that you're a shitposter and then rant about how horrible RP players won't be fucked in Legion QQ etc.
You can easily make a macro that can hide/show armor slots. I also imagine that you'll also be able to macro appearance switching as well, in certain areas, of course.
I am both the Lady of Dusk, Vheliana Nightwing & Dark Priestess of Lust, Loreleî Legace!

No. I don't want to transmog plate into cloth on my warrior. I want to have the cloth as a separate item that I can put on as I want to, but I can't get the cloth item to begin with, because the quests won't let me pick it as reward on legion PTR. To a point where some quests that I know for a fact have items you can pick offer no rewards at all, if none of them are str-plate / warrior 2-handers.you're complaining about not being able to TRANSMOG to non-plate items?
Those scripts are gone in legion, though. I had an addon that relied on the console function to hide helm / cloak with a button, but that won't work any more because the scripts were removed from the game. You can easily make a macro that can hide/show armor slots. I also imagine that you'll also be able to macro appearance switching as well, in certain areas, of course.

It's going to be extremely useful for people crazy about transmog! It's really an ugly mount, IMO.
I know how you feel. Blizzard really needs to introduce some method for us to get that other gear for RP purpose. It really sucks.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I much rather would've bought another three months worth of sub time, but it'll be required. GG Blizz.
One would think that a ton of people have that Yak now. With the gold bonanza of WoD, I bet a bunch of those things were bought. My point being, even if you don't have a Yak, It's probably not that hard to find somebody who can pop one out for ya.
If not that, people can probably console themselves with the fact that nobody cares what your transmog looks like. So, just turn down your OCD setting and wait it out until you can get back to a town to fix it.
