Leaning Towards This Build - Thoughts?

Just about ready to order. Wondering if the PSU will be enough or if there's anything else I'm missing. Any feedback really.
Have a 1920x1080 60hz monitor right now but could upgrade in the future.

What is your take on overclocking this? How far are you planning to push? If you're not going to push CPU far and dont plan on GPU overclocking 550W is fine. Other than that get 650W. I suggest a little switching up (especially if you dont plan to use optical drives).

Even with pushing it hard unless OP goes SLI 550 is fine.
This kind of system is build to last around 4 years, so PSU degradation (which is close to maximum on overclocked gaming PC) is an important factor. With heavy overclocking this system is gonna have 360-420W (depending on fans) required input. You want to have 15-20% extra output and I honestly have no idea what this platforms average degradation over 5 years is (because it's rather new), but average all around is about 10-15% with those loads.

Probably won't be overclocking the GPU or using SLI.

In which case with a 550W PSU you have about 50W extra (which is fine in itself for a NEW 80+ Gold PSU, as they can easily produce their maximum rated output and probably more). That wont be the case with the aged PSU and also even some of the best PSU have issues with high working temperature performance, which is a common occurence in this case. Didnt clear you PSU it time (or even bottom exhaust dust filter if you have that configuration) and you can degrade your PSU that much faster.

    550W is fine then.

Hey, going to use this thread instead of making a new one. My 4+ years old PC just died, so I was looking to build a new one and this is similar to the price I was looking for.

However, I already have some parts and I'd like opinions about if I should try to keep them and use the extra money to get better parts elsewhere or if I should just get everything new.

    1) I have 8GB (2x4) DDR3 RAM, I assume I should upgrade this but wasn't sure.

    2) I have a GTX660 GPU which was still doing well, I'm not necessarily looking to play super graphics on recent games, but would like it if possible.

    3) Currently have a big enough HDD, don't think I should buy a new one if I don't need to?

    Thanks for the help.

Should really start your own thread for this, however:

    1) If you upgrade to Skylake, you need DDR4 RAM

    2) Could probably make do, depending on the games you are trying to play.

    3) Should get an SSD if you do not already have one.

Will do, I'll provide more details (budget) in the thread.
