    Entry build - advice needed

    Hello everyone,

So, I want to build a new computer, but I really do not know a lot about each respective part (will not be doing the building up myself).

Following some googling and searching here and there, I have come up with this build: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/z8PGPs
I only want to play some wow every so often (due to uni), hopefully at around medium settings...?

As I will be using this pc for some browsing/wow only, I'd like the price tag to remain at the level of the build linked above. I do need a new monitor too, and I've included the one I've seen suggested elsewhere.

    Any advice/help much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Just a monitor.

Please check my link above as well - not sure how I can link the parts one by one.

For £700, you can build a rig that'll play wow at ultra in 1080 at 60+Hz.

    Thanks a lot!

Just two questions: 1) What's the difference between 1x8gm ram and 2x4gm ram? Google suggests the latter is better - is this even noticeable?
    2) Isn't a better psu worth the extra pounds?

That would be awesome, though not too fussed about playing on ultra.

    1) Performance difference is neglectibly small and leaves you an option to upgrade to 16GB RAM (as motherboard only has 2 RAM slots).
    2) It's a good PSU, unlike that Deepcool one, a little lower wattage that I would choose to get but getting anything better would require extra 15 EUR which I couldnt squeeze here.

Which one would you recommend? It's okay if it goes a bit above the budget.

    Hey,

One final question! Is the i5 6600 worth the extra 20 or so pounds over the i5 6500? Will it make any noticeable difference for wow (which I heard is more cpu dependent)?

If you have extra money to spend you better spend it on getting a GTX 1060 3GB or 16GB RAM instead. Next up is getting a better case. i5-6400 to i5-6500 is a big jump (0.5 GHz clock) but 6500 to 6600 is only 0.1 GHz.

I see. Is this GPU worth it then - https://www.scan.co.uk/products/nda-...gpu-1708mhz-bo

Apparently it's priced well relative to the weaker RX 470.

Yeah, it will work. RX 470 are not really much worse, they should be $20 cheaper and about 5-7% slower but I guess those cryptocoin farmer want them too badly.
