4. Keep bitching at the Legion class designers via twitter till they unfuck our class.
5. Or you can pick another class and play that till Warlocks are in a better place. Traditionally our damage scales well in the later tiers of an expansion anyway.
6. Or this

The guild I'm in has said they wouldn't take a lock unless there was no other caster option. We bring nothing to the table in terms of dps or CC that no other ranged can't do better.
Dunno what others people problem in this thead is. Warlocks are FINE in M+, actually in a much better position compared to other casters such as spriests. As destro I can easily top on trash (which is 90% of mythic+) or on boss fights that have cleavable adds. And when you get to higher level mythics where you can't simply burst AoE down the adds affliction MURDERS everyone else on trash. The only aspect where we lack in M+ is single target fights or when you compare us to DH's who EVERY ranged pales in comparison to.
So no OP the reason you get declined to mythic+ groups isn't because your a warlock.
I don't know why people are saying warlocks "suck" they don't "suck" they are just ALOT more work then say a hunter. I roll Affliction and my AoE CAN rival that of a god on trash. Hell the other day I broke a million dps on trash it's all about the setup. I use hunter as an example because yesterday I ran w/ one who had 30% of his dmg from Murder of crows and was @ like 480k @_@, why blizzard doesn't think THAT is broken is beyond me. I think an assumption made earlier that warlocks suffer from fire mage syndrome is spot on. Yes it's hard work to do dmg of people who are much lower than you in iLvL but this is 5m mythic, m+1-? I dunno just my opinion (not fact just opinion).
Its less a problem with Warlocks as a class and more that there is a big overflow of dps and leaders being able to chose out of 20dps in like 2min including atleast 10 hunters and dh. Plus picking those is pretty low risk since every mongoloid can play BM
This, Locks have a terrible rep and group leaders just take the safe option, also, the lock specs ar emuch more niche, yeah so affliction is great on aoe trash but to do that you have to give up all your already terrible single target damage.
Mage and hunter can run cookie-cutter talent builds where they excel at everything, a hunter can take barrage and it is just fine as a single target ability, now look at sow the seeds, utterly useless outside aoe.
i got declined 12 times today for eye mythic + 2/3 . they all ask for 840-45 ilevel . im 857 and i cant get a fucking invite to get the trinket . what kind of sick joke is that??
Dunno done with guild warlock and dps looked fine to me. Was not mythic plus just normal
Mythic to help guildie to get some gear but dps was not low or something of our warlock.

Actually, affliction can be good at Mythic+ trash because it lives long enough to get our dots up on it (I wish they'd modify Phantom Singularity's range though, it has a high chance of lethally pulling everything in and out of sight)
The problem is that affliction is a one-trick pony. It can do great trash AOE on long-lives trash, but that's it. You have to specialise via your talents into AOE which means giving up great slabs of affliction's already rubbish single target damage. This is in fact a problem that plagues all of the warlock specs.
When I saw talents I thought great, we can tailor ourselves to the situation at hand, making talents interesting and bringing rotation variety for different encounters. Then they brought in the whacking great stupidity that is the talent change cost, which turns it into a complete pain in the ass - you have to carry the stack of time and gold sinks aka tomes
This wouldn;t be so bad except that other classes simply aren;t pidgeonholed like this. Classes like mages, hunters, demon hunters, they can stick to one talent build and they excel at everything.
You won't take a warlock who has to make serious compromises like ok I;m great on trash but rubbish on the bosses, when you can take a demon hunter and they can be great on trash and the boss.
Classes which are good all-rounders and who have on demand burst will always be taken in preference - there is simply no reason to take a warlock if you have a mage or hunter in your list of applicants. The warlock is always the poorer choice, because you have no idea whatever about player skill, therefore, the first sorting pass is by class.
The odds are that a mediocre demon hunter is going to match a good warlock, and a good mage will always beat a good warlock, and a mediocre warlock is just a liability.

Exactly. Groups choose non-warlocks because there are plenty of classes that are simply stronger and easier to play. Why risk a warlock who is mediocre even if they are a good player, which they might not be, when you can take a demon hunter who will be great damage in all circumstances even if the player isn;t great because it's so damn easy to play? The two factors virtually guarantee the demon hunter will bring more to the group than the warlock ever will.
The talents don;t help. Sow the Seeds is an absolutel ymandatory talent for affliction to do AOE. But it's utterly useless for anything else. A hunter can take Barrage and it's a good talent for single target too.
