It's fun when I gank. It's stupid when I get ganked, and that's pretty much everyones mindset.
I was on my Rogue (ilevel ~815) about 1300k health, doing Azsuna WQ last night, get ganked by a Rogue with ~1900k health while I was killing mobs. So I waited, I released, I stealted, I followed him, I waited until he pulled a rare - then I killed him.
That's just how PvP servers are.
I've recently been levelling a Shaman - going through Hellfire Peninsula was, well, hellfire. So I parked my DH in the zone, just in case I needed to dispense some swift revenge, before you know it, some rather large battles are breaking out - it's nice to see that again.
1) Load the amount of weight I would deadlift onto the bench
2) Unrack
3) Crank out 15 reps
4) Be ashamed of constantly skipping leg day
World pvp needs to start somewhere, killing an alt eventualy get's them logged on their main and mabye bringing some friends, but there is a line, dont kill them if you see they try really hard to avoid you or they end up afk'ing, yes it's annoying getting ganked by a god of death, but it's also fun to be that god of death ;p
Some of my most memorable moments have come from world pvp. Just as many people have stated, there were times I'd get ganked 2 or 3 times and log over to my main and hunt them down back in vanilla, bc, and cata. I've never cared for arena, i can see the appeal, but I personally don't get much enjoyment out of it, so world pvp has always been my favorite. There were many times a player a few levels higher than me tried to gank me got wrecked and there were other times they were level cap and 1 shot me or were the same level and still beat me, who cares, it happens. You can typically get away if you try, ive never been camped for more than 10-15 minutes and up until these past 2 xpacs, ive always played on a pvp server. My best memory of getting ganked was when I was running my lvl 29 twink arms warrior out to the AB to get his last piece of gear when a mage, around level 40, tries to gank me and he got 2 or 3 shot with 1.3k overpower crits. I could only imagine the look on his face :3. Another great one was my brother was getting ganked out in STV back in wrath by an arms warrior and I run out there on my prot pally and gank him, he calls his buddies out, my brother logs over to his hunter main and we grab up a few friends and have a bloodbath where the trolls were right outside the horde camp, it was amazing fun. Oh, another time was wrath launch day. One of the alliance glad teams on my server was running around ganking everyone in sight the first few hours and camping. Didn't end amazing for them, when they actually started leveling we were catching them in other zones with groups just as big camping them inturn. I miss those days :3.
TLDR; CUZ RAMBLE N STUF
Don't get mad about world pvp or getting ganked, its part of being on a pvp server and imho, were some of the best moments i had playing this game. Sometimes trying to get away and outsmarting them in your escape is fun too. If it hurts your feelings or makes you angry when it happens, then IDK what to say to you, maybe... Iz jus game? Iz jus lyfe? Dno. rawr
This, i do enjoy a break from a mindless grind by equal leveled pvp, once or twice is fine, camping iant tbh, but within the rules and hey, log on another alt right.
The guy crying to the point he was saying he'd report for hacking? Thats to much tbh, HIS type doesnt belong on a pvp server.
But complaining when a XX level kills your lower level char(or ilvl difference closer to cap)Anything past say 7 levels makes the ganker a douche, i mean it could be a new player to wow and he cant hop on his main to get revenge. Never know, so it isnt a good idea to camp(ofc meaning being more than a douche)
So yeah, a little complaining would happen, but im guessing he added you to realid and berated you? Screw his type.
Still I cry, tears like pouring rain, Innocent is my lurid pain.
PvP has always, even from the VERY start of wow, meant PvP.
-People knew what they were getting into
-PvP nowadays is very easy to escape (Rogue Vanish, Night Elf Shadowmeld etc)
-PvP can also easily be circumvented (Did you get ganked? Go somewhere else, do pet battles, do dungeons etc)
-PvP on a PvP server is PvP. There are no rules.. Your level 70 just got ganked by a level 110? Tough luck, enjoy that TINY bit of danger WoW has to offer
PS: If it's red it's dead. Move on.
For me it's because way back in the long long ago of 2005 all my friends where on a PvP realm so i joined them, now i have 10 lvl 100s and 2 lvl 110s on that server so i ain't moving.... even tho i think i've done maybe 20 arenas from TBC - Present.
Also because (and blizzard seems to aggre given the PvP templates, finaly) world pvp is never ever a balanced fight, someone just wants to farm / lvl / quest then a Gladiator jumps out and camps them coz he's bored and / or needs to feel better about his cock that particular day... and least , especialy with my Sin'dorei bracers i can nuke someone down within a few seconds every 3 mins :P ... tends to discourage the assholes when you die within an axe toss / fear coz Thal'kiels hit you for 1M+ ^^
tbh get in ganked is not an issue, it happens and you can always fight back, being prepared for it all the time is a thrilling thing and there is no better feeling that getting down someone that started attacking when he was prepared and chose when to attack you like double humiliation :P
what really grind my gears is when there is opposing faction guys doing their things till there is X times more of them and then they are so freaking brave and start ramming single players that's just weak
World PvP is fine by me but I do have a problem with massive faction imbalance though. For example last time I did the squirrel quest in Val'Sharah it was me alone there as a Horde and there were about 20-30 Alliance players there at the same time, and there are no guards in those towns. 1v1, 1v2 or even 1v3 is OK but after it becomes 1v10 when the others start helping someone who is about to lose to me I get annoyed (and obviously I'm not the one who starts the fight either).
If you kill a low level once or twice or even three times, that's cool. Their fault for playing on a PvP server. But if you dedicate your life to ruin someone else's and keep ganking them even past those 3 kills, then yeah there's a problem (and actually you can get banned for griefing even on PvP server). Personally, couldn't care less what you do or how many times someone ganks me, if it pisses me off I'll just hop onto my main and kill em a few times in return, will never rage or report someone for something that clearly could've been avoided by playing on a different server.
I chose to play on a pvp server. my server is balanced 60% horde, 40% alliance. I play alliance myself.
but Blizzard have fucked my server up, my allowing CRZ to merge my alrdy horde dominated server with a lot more unbalanced, horde-dominated server.
Whenever i go to do a world quest, i'm constantly ganked and corpse camped, as the only alliance against 4-8 horde.. sometimes even more. the second i respawn, i'm jumped again...
i don't mind a 40&60 population, i like being on the underdog team, but this CRZ have made it a 95/5 population in favor of horde. and i did not sign up for that when i chose my server.
It is just an example, other non english servers have the same issues.
Also i do not want anything changed, i have no issues with the system as it is now, i was only explaining why some people say they were forced to join a PVP server to do PVE.

I would have done the same thing you did years ago, but if you take a closer look, this is what happened, you were doing PVE, you had to abandon that activity and engage in PVP, which i assume it was not your original intention, and they could have done that on purpose to force you bring your main so they could bring theirs and still gank you on your main, because most probably it would not be just those 2 guys.
It did not end like that, but still they managed to force PVP on you.
Although i get the satisfaction of ganking them back, in the long run they made you waste your leveling time, and if it is just from time to time, it is ok, but this on a daily basis, would mean it would take you forever to level that alt, which has to be quite an incovinience for you.

So you ganked them on your main and they complained cool. But you were going off me making fun of my ilvl and transmog why? Did it make you feel better about yourself? I wouldn't be even slightly surprised if you raged messaged me about me camping your main. Hyptocrit much?
Well, picture removed, I am guessing due to not reading the rules.
But, I understand why people don't like to get ganked, it is the lowest form of PvP and a time waster for at least one person.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..
World pvp in wow is beyond redundant now, considering:
- Perma stealth classes
- PvP templates not working
- lvl101 and lvl110 being usually in the same zones (world quest's huh)
- Server faction imbalances
I wonder why blizzard won't turn every server to PvE now (you can turn PvP flag there if you want some hot WPvP action).
World PvP was fun and all in vanilla but since then game evolved so much so now it feels like redundant feature, it's just here but not so many people enjoy's it
I never gank players of lower level than me unless they are already attacking my faction member.
I also don't really look for PvP engagements, but sometimes people piss me off with their followers/pets, unresponsible AoEs or just randomly throwing spells on me. Then I make sure to kill them and if I die to any of those random things, I kill them and one or two more. Sometimes it excalates to a big battle, which is fun.
However I think your class makes a huge difference. When I was leveling my Warlock, people were ganking me a lot. However when I play my Monk, pretty much nobody touches me.

So you pretty much copy cat me. I'm glad I'm an inspiration to you . It's shocking that a bad player like yourself copies another bad player. You must have a low self esteem to be calling people names, I'm sorry I offended you buddy <3. I have empathy towards you. Your gear is absolute garbage and transmog colors don't match
