Evidence of his incompetence can be found through his business performance, if he runs our country in a similar fasion then Bush will look stupendous in comparison. It's funny because Trump always touted on his "amazing" business skills, but presents failures every now and then.

They economy did so well in during Bush's first 6 years it's why the Feds raised interest rates, between that, people buying homes they couldn't afford, Banks taking advantage of stupid people the bubble burst.

Even if the Dems take the house they won't have a filibuster proof majority in the senate so they STILL won't have full control given the power of the filibuster.

Unless the Senate decides to do away with the filibuster...which would be remarkable.

It's a possibility but I just don't know if they'd be willing to go that far and open up the door to reprisal down the road (not to mention the likely blowback for a power grab like that from the electorate). But yes, they may decide have the SCOTUS locked up for 30 years is far far better than losing the legislative branch for a few cycles.

They could just decide to get rid of it altogether - it doesn't seem to do a lot of good. And locking up SCOTUS, especially if they can see 3-4 nominees, would be worth a great deal in the long run.

Not going to happen. The republican party is too crazy, too insane, and too angry, to compromise in any way shape or form. Even if the republican party establishment wanted to compromise their base will not let them.

I would be thrilled. I think the filibuster has become a horribly abused tool. I think the best solution would be to either force it to go back to ye olden days filibustering or to force people to do it publicly so everyone can see who is doing it. Add that to the list of Republicans who don't support/won't endorse him, along with Sheldon Adelson (successful casino owner, backing out of promised contributions) Bill O'Reilly (repost, but worth it) parts of Kellyanne Conway, and Eminem.

I don't see it changing any time soon, as Obama got in office the tea party cleaned the 'tax and spend republicans' out of office and the base sent new politicians to washington with the expectations that those politicians would force washington to give the R base everything they wanted without compromise and give filthy liberals nothing that they wanted. That isn't possible unless you own all 3 branches of government and then the base felt the politicians failed them because politicians are corrupt, not because the base had unrealistic goals. Now they elect a guy based on him 'not being a politician' (I would add corrupt but to them all politicians are corrupt so it need not be said) and thus we have the disaster of a campaign that we are looking at today.

I doubt very much the voting base of the republican party will look at themselves and see where the mistake was made, more likely they will double down on obstruction and blame liberals for their own failings.

Russia Expert Stephen Cohen: Trump Wants To Stop The New Cold War, But The American Media Just Doesn't Understand

Stephen F. Cohen, professor emeritus of Russian studies at NYU and Princeton, spoke with CNN's 'Smerconish' Saturday morning about Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and the 'New Cold War.'

Cohen says the media at large is doing a huge disservice to the American people by ignoring the substance of Trump's arguments about NATO and Russia, and buying the Clinton campaign's simplistic smear that Trump is a Russian "Manchurian candidate."

"That reckless branding of Trump as a Russian agent, most of it is coming from the Clinton campaign," Cohen said. "And they really need to stop."

"We're approaching a Cuban Missile Crisis level nuclear confrontation with Russia," he explained. "And there is absolutely no discussion, no debate, about this in the American media."

"Then along comes, unexpectedly, Donald Trump," he continued, "Who says he wants to end the New Cold War, and cooperate with Russia in various places... and --astonishingly-- the media is full of what only can be called neo-McCarthyite charges that he is a Russian agent, that he is a Manchurian candidate, and that he is Putin's client."

"This is a moment when there should be, in a presidential year, a debate," he said. "And that is not what we are given in the media today."

"Let's go back to what you said Trump said about NATO," Cohen also said. "Trump said early on, he wanted to know, 60 years after its foundation, what was NATO's mission today. 100 policy wonks in Washington since the end of the Soviet Union, 25 years ago, have asked the same question. Is NATO an organization in search of a mission?"

"That's a legitimate question --but we don't debate it. We don't ask it. We just say, oh, Trump wants to abandon NATO."

Overall they are, but a few members might be sick of the craziness and want to actually DO something. It wouldn't take but a few with a Dem controlled House and Senate to get some actual good work done.

And then those republicans would be primaried by the wingnuts who would denounce them as traitors and RINO's, with the end result being they'd lose their seats, just as has happened already with many GOP members in prior election cycles. No, it doesn't matter how good or bad those republican politico's individually might be, what matters above all to them is keeping their jobs, and they won't if they act against the wishes of their base. Compromise by republicans is a pipe dream and isn't going to happen.

Putin should forgo flirting and just go grab Trump by the pussy and lock lips because Trump is a gift to Russia which also wants the Brexit, wants Nato dismantled, wants America to have an isolationist policy, wants the European Union to fail, wants to hack the American government without reprisal, wants to lobby congress to be pro-russian and generally wants to make it so Putin can re-absorb by force all the eastern block countries that use to compose the USSR right through Poland regardless if their citizens want that.
