btw i was just looking at Micro ATX Cube cases ( i had no idea that such nice looking cases even existed). would this one be compatible with my parts?

Ya that's a really cool case, its unique in that the motherboard lays flat so you get to see the video card from the side. All the parts are compatible. I just thought you wanted to keep this build at or under 500, thats why i havent suggested any different parts.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

    CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($118.00 @ B&H)

    Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($35.98 @ Newegg)
    Storage: Crucial MX300 525GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Apevia X-QPACK3-WHT MicroATX Mini Tower Case ($59.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: EVGA 450W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($39.99 @ NCIX US)

PCpartpicker does not list the MSI 1060 at the correct price so i had to manually add it, total of build is 20 dollars less after mail in rebate. I dont know how much storage you need, but the mx300 525gb is by far the best deal on the market currently.

Here is a great website for installing software after windows install, you just check off the programs you want and it installs them all in one package:

With windows 10 it finds all the drivers automatically, its really good that way. Thats a good price for the monitor, only downside i guess would be the 90 day warranty.

yeah that sucks but oh well.
about your list i just noticed that the case is not eligible for shoprunner or newegg premier free 2 day shipping (all other parts are)
guess i have to look for another case.

edit: or use an amazon prime trial and hope it arrives at the same time

TBH i dont think any cases are eligible for premier, my membership ran out but i cant recall seeing any.

Refurb doesn't necessarily mean it had a problem, could have been a display unit or anything really. Id rather deal with refub than open box, most open box items have a terrible return policy.

If you go with the microATX cube config (nice part list by Mr. 650ti boost ), dont buy the Gaming X 1060 and get the EVGA 1060 SC and save $10, you dont need the Gaming X, EVGA 1060 SC have nice cooling for a single fan GPU and fit better in the Apevia microATX case.

    Avoid refurbished items, especially monitors.

I hope it's a joke. Gaming X has the best two fan cooling system out there and it's only $10. Also, those types of cases can comfortably fit all regular videocards.
    R5 5600X | Thermalright Silver Arrow IB-E Extreme | MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk | 16GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4-3600/CL16 | MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X | Corsair RM650x | Cooler Master HAF X | Logitech G400s | DREVO Excalibur 84 | Kingston HyperX Cloud II | BenQ XL2411T + LG 24MK430H-B

Yeah Gaming X is the best 2 fan cooling but with the MicroATX cube case and a budget Computer He dont need the Gaming X and the EVGA SC fit much better in this case and have identical performance and lesser noise. He will not see any diference in FPS between the Gaming X or the EVGA SC and He can save $10.
