I must've missed when they started using them for lumber. Or when birds started eating bark.
There are literal, defined biological definitions. A fertilized egg is a zygote. It must implant and begin growing to become an embryo. It must then last for a period of time (depending on species) to become a fetus. It must then be carried to term (or survive emergency removal) to become a baby. Abortions are almost exclusively only legal before it hits the fetus stage, and can't by definition occur before implantation.
I am not seeing the problem here.
This isn't about being taught facts: this is about reasoning structures and arguments.
Being able to argue points that you personally disagree with will help you emphatise in situations in real life where you might be in a discussion in which you disagree with someone.
Being able to make coherent arguments and use concepts that you learned in theory to apply in practise is what university is all about.
As someone who has a masters degree, I can't count the amount of times I have had to argue positions I don't personally agree with, simply because it helps you with improving your ability to reason and make logical arguments.
