doctors will still make tons of money if the usa transitions to a government run healthcare system. in canada, doctors have an average salary of 225 000$ with specialists such as ophthalmologists making nearly 700k before tax. mostly all paid for by the government. doctors currently make about the same in americaa, when accounting for exchange rates and such.

the fucking insane costs of healthcare in the US has nothing to do with doctors salaries. its all about lining the pockets of the people/corporations who actually own and run the hospitals and the insurance companies. if a properly funded healthcare system was in place, doctors could still drive 200k cars. insurance company ceos however, wont be buying private jets funded off the misery of millions of americans.

It was the same way when they started cutting off water to people who supposedly couldnt pay their bills for years in Detroit. They magically all came up with money and paid their bills, but if the city never shut off the water, the bills wouldve never gotten paid.

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/n...ills/13228207/

When the city shut off 150 accounts in July 2013, word spread quickly. In all, 390 delinquent customers came in to pay.

"They were lined up around the building to pay," Square said. "We really turned our situation around in Hamtramck."

“'If you never shut the water off for anybody, those people who continue to pay have to shoulder the entire cost of a system that is servicing a lot of customers that aren't paying. That's not a sustainable business model.'”
Tom Curtis, deputy executive director of the American Water Works Association
The water fund now has a $2 million fund balance, money that can help win grants and fund repairs, Square said.

Warren ramped up its shutoff efforts in 2010 after years of adding unpaid water bills onto property tax bills, said water superintendent Tom Pawelkowski. The move reduced the unpaid bills from about $3 million annually to about $1 million, he said.

You and Vyxn's mental gymnastics posts are truly something to behold, they would be a thing of beauty if they weren't so damn depressing

Except for the fact that each and every time they tried to repeal it they had a clear replacement, just as they do now.

In case you forgot, I will provide you with an example:

When Romney was running against Obama, he planned to replace it with a wider version of "Romneycare." A healthcare program in place that is more successful than Obamacare and has an established track record.

Remember, just because the most of the mainstream press won't print anything even slightly positive about Obama's opponents doesn't mean that these things didn't happen. You just have to do a little leg work (and not be that lazy, spoon fed media person).

No, they just got treated in an emergency room. It has been a long standing law in this country that you can not be turned away, regardless of ability to pay or even citizenship status.

I know everyone conveniently forgot that in the mad rush to push the Obamacare narrative that people are dying in the streets because they could not get healthcare (who in their right mind would even believe that? It is right up there with the Trump "golden showers" story the media and Dems tried to push but got caught on).

You trolling? ACA was modeled after Romneycare and was altered to fit a national program, but of course "saying I'll just add in my version" is not having a replacement, there has been zero, legislation put forth or even a committee outline.

that's why ina public system you have different types of healthcare facilities. one of them are on the preventory care, others are for the people who have minor issues, and then, others for serious stuff. all of this does help to drive the prices down

Cool story. This didn't help people that required ongoing treatment. You know, the people that couldn't get insurance because their condition was 'preexisting'?

There's a much cheaper alternative to Obamacare, it's called single payer. But when have the Republicans ever been fiscally conservative?

Yea I don't get this state either. Have coworkers that are ineligible for coverage under ACA since they make too little doing part time. The program alone deems then eligible but the "state of Florida" says otherwise. They won't get the fee since they applied, but they better hope any accidents happen during work hours.

I'm sure it's almost as stupid in other states as well.

Yes because we don't want Americans running to the doctor for every little thing....except.

Small things could be a sign of a more serious health issue. Such as ...

Because the brain has no pain receptors, brain tumors themselves do not cause headache pain. Headaches are actually the result of pressure caused by the tumor and/or tumor-related fluid buildup on pain-sensitive blood vessels and nerves within the brain.

There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that “my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." - Isaac Asimov

I'm so sorry that your fee fees get hurt because your totally deferable condition means you have to wait behind people that need more immediate treatment.

Good thing there are systems in order to rate severity of conditions, so someone with a runny nose isn't getting in before someone having a heart attack. Funny that.

As somebody with experience on that, its definitely smart to get a MRI if you have constant headaches.
