It's a category of porn catering to women. Most porn is very male-centric, featuring lots of busty women giving fellatio, getting anal and taking moneyshots. Lots of shots of the woman, with the man mostly out of frame other than his junk. Woman-oriented porn focuses more on emotions, foreplay, cunnilingus, eroticising men's bodies, realistically proportioned women and things like that. In varying degrees. I guess it's down to the producer's tastes and views what exactly qualifies.

Basically just the porn equivalent of the action movie/chick flick dichotomy.

It's not a huge genre, I think a lot of women just make do with regular porn.

It's probably a decent representation of mainstream hetero porn tastes, but you're still looking at a distorted image of sexual preferences. That's a very good question, from what I know you can make an account on Pornhub, I wonder if they only counted the people with accounts or made statistics based on the specifics people watch. For example, if I went and checked the female-friendly category would I be counted as a woman just because I checked

They do not use accounts to check gender, they use your meta data from google, this is why for instance they have statistics from China even though China can't directly access pornhub due to porn being banned in China. As you peruse the internet looking for clothes, furniture, cars, makeup, medicine and so on your cookies gradually reveal your likely location, gender and age. This can then be accessed by pornhub to determine who you are likely to be.

I don't want to link directly to the site the thread is about, but if you enter their address and then put /insights/what-women-want
after it and check the top comment you can see a representative from pornhub saying the following
"Google analytic demographic stats" to answer the question of "How do you know which users are women?"
