Folly and fakery have always been with us... but it has never before been as dangerous as it is now, never in history have we been able to afford it less. - Isaac Asimov
Every damn thing you do in this life, you pay for. - Edith Piaf
The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command. - Orwell
No amount of belief makes something a fact. - James Randi
While there are many questionable decisions made by Trump since this election, this particular decision takes the lead without a single inch of a doubt as the worst.
But there's something that annoys me in this. Devos has a lot of deserved criticism on her, but there's one which is incredibly hypocritical from some democrats here.
If you're part of the crowd who've said the pay to play scheme from Clinton were just business as usual, well, there you have it: business as usual got you Devos.
So while I despise her and I feel terribly, horribly sorry for the kids whom future will be broken by a rich nutjob... remember that it's only business as usual.
So stop criticizing the fact that she paid for her spot, it only makes you look even worse than before. Focus on real criticism: her complete incompetence.

I was just thinking. If Jeff Sessions' confirmation vote hadn't been held up he wouldn't have been able to cast essentially the 50th vote making it a tie. His seat would have been vacant. She wouldn't have been confirmed.

Just to be clear, AFAIK nothing Clinton did was as wrong or as blatant as Devos buying her way into a cabinet position. The worst 'pay for play' incident (and I still dispute that donations to a charity qualify for that term) was for access, not an unearned position of power. Lay off the false equivalencies already; the election's over. Though I agree her total lack of qualifications is somewhat more damning than having bribed Trump for it.
I find it funny that democracy in the US is more or less the same as the "democracy" in 3rd world countries like Somalia. Of course there's the slight distinction between clan leaders and oligarchs. Both receive money from the Saudi's to influence politics though.
I found a picture of the new cabinet in session. It didn't take 500 years, only 10.
Well now no one can blame democrats. Waiting eagerly for all the Nobel nominations Trump's eager followers are about to receive, not that they care for education.
But will her professional growth compensate for the lack of proficiency? Remains to be seen!
So, when is Trump going to appoint a horse to the senate?
Why is this level of direct and blatant bribery even legal in the US?
