I don't understand why anyone would complain about inflation. Do you complain about it irl too? How does it effect you in a way that your immediate response isn't contained in game but has to spill over to a fan site forum thread.

you clearly have failed to understand tokens. the gold gets taken out of the game.

Well i kinda support this idea.

I dont see a problem with them selling tier19 for gold as a boosting service (like the leveling boost) when tier20 is out for lets say 4-5 months.
Same with the previous PvP sets, maybe make a combo pack with raid + PvP sets (the old tier-PvP not the current one)
It will make sure ppl that come back into the game and want to raid with friends or ppl they dont know and get a shot.

So i am in support of this idea, but they need to make sure the gear they sell is a few months behind the current PvP and Raid gear sets.
They money blizzard make from this can support this game a few extra years with extra content so i only see pro points (because the leveling boost is pretty mutch the same)

I did not read full thread.

Anyways if you have so much gold how about giving it to those that dont.I know myself I cant buy a spider mount. And with the prices of the tokens I will not be able to play much longer. Not everyone plays the AH.

How will it take care of it? The 100k gold youre paying for it isn't disappearing, it's going to the player that sold the token... So the gold is still in the market.

Only time gold disappears is when you use it to buy stuff from NPCs or the game itself. Like when you repair your armor or buy items (mounts/food/pets/etc) from NPC vendors or when you sell stuff in AH and it takes a cut.

Pretty much this. Don't need to turn the game into Archeage II

It's funny how similar that is to the D3 Auction house.

Considering Blizz raised the gold cap by times 10 at the start of Legion, I have a feeling they are fine with the amount of gold players have.
How about charging raiders and mythic+ players 100g per second they are in an instance. That would take care of all that "carry" gold too.
Me thinks Chromie has a whole lot of splaining to do!

Hell no, stop thinking that way.

Earn your bloody gear, do a dungeon, do quests, EARN IT rather then spend the gold on It that you would've bought with a wow token.. how's that a gearing experience If you just pay literal money for gear to be geared up right away, rather then the person who'd spend months getting the best gear while you just buy yours?

Quit It, this Isn't a F2P game. And despite the very bad gear-aquiring system In Legion, where you literaly kick nuts around and grow trees as a wisp for 5 minutes and get an epic helmet drop, It's still not good to just buy your gear with gold. Definitely not the best one, and the Order hall Armor sets are ueseless and are just time sinks for no reason so don't argue with those either.

Besides, you get gear left right and center In Legion, It's NEVER Been easier to get gear as It is now In Legion where you're almost given It freely on a silver platter without any effort whatsoever. Walk up to nut, click, repeat 15 times, get epic helmet.... like what the fudge Is that.

The way you aquired gear wasn't broken In the first place, I don't understand why Its' been made easier for everyone... oh wait, I do. CASUALS. Blizzard catoring to casuals so they can gear up In matter of days to the same level someone spending 2 months gearing up would get.

You get 4 quests In a quest hub, go out kill some Barrens Tigers, get some Farstrider beaks, kill a few centaurs and explore this cave, then return to get a green helmet, a recipe for boiled clams, a green axe and a bunch of silvers - that Is gearing up, that Is correct. Kicking nuts around for 5 minutes? That Isn't.
Permabanned on WoW since April 14th 2015, main acc I had since vanilla gone and trashed for no good reason, 6+ years later still banned with more appeals resulting in my BATTLENET games being suspended for a month eachtime I try making TICKETS because I'm asking for help with the perma ban. Blizzard has stopped caring for their first veteran players and would rather we leave, considering the Lawsuit, can you afford to keep peps banned even for so long under questionable circumstances?

I agree with you on almost everything, but you missed the point.

What to do with your gold in legion?

Pets and Mounts are not enough or have a really, really bad investment / return ratio.

Examples for "premium" services in the past:

Classic: Riding, Mounts, Epic Riding -> Made you (a lot) faster in a time where there was no flying and you had to travel the whole world all the time.
BC: Flying, Flying Mounts -> Made you even faster and give you more possibilities to explore the world. Also guild banks (40k gold if fully upgraded!), also Haris Pilton Bag.
Wrath: Cold Weather flying (enabled flying in Northrend) and the Tundra Mount (portable vendor and repair man) and of course the upgradable Kirin Tor Teleport Ring.
Cata: Introduced Transmog and Void Storage. In addition to that legendaries started to cost a hefty sum to get. Also we got vial of the sands, the first 2 person flying mount that was not acquired through the recruit a friend system.
Mists: Flying on Pandaria and the Yak mount with a portable transmog guy.
Draenor: Originally the garrison was intended to be the big money sink, but actually the exact opposite happened: It generated tons of gold and the result of spending gold was to get more gold. This already is a big problem in itself.
Legion: The spider mount. But the spider mount does not offer anything special except its look. But the look will be obsolete as soon as flying is possible again.

There is no real reason for gold to have a worth at the moment and that is a problem.
Would be totally different of course if that damn spider mount could climb walls. Like srsly, suddenly every would want to have one.

...Blizzard depends on Whales to keep microtransactions sustainable. As long as they do, Blizzard has no reason to not keep adding them to their games.

A Whale is, in casino terms someone who walks in and just dumps a TON of money normal people would and could not ever possibly have. For example a millionaire going to Las Vegas and dropping $2 million in 5 different casinos without batting an eye.

The Blizzard Playerbase Equivalent--working on a name for them--are typically those who spend and live off a fraction of their income and have thousands of dollars worth of disposable income. People like this exist, see this story: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/spe.../1100-6447682/

This is why Free to Play games have $100 Packages: They know the Whales will but several of 'em, giving them rent money for the next two years at the least and financing their next 5 games at best (LOL). The average person will only be able to spend that kind of money once, maybe twice a year (Tax Season and Christmas or Birthday).
...Ok, time to change the ol' Sig ^_^
