Differences between the US and Canada.

Yes, I am sure I can get a summary of difference in other parts of the internet but I'd like to hear what OT has to say about the differences between the two countries, please refrain from nation-bashing.

How is day to day life different in Canada from the US?

Aren't there more differences than that, though? I know there were/are some infrastructure differences, like a lack of check cards from financial institutions.

Besides that, Canada seems to like hockey way more than we do. Really that's all I can come up with.

What Americans call Canadian bacon is American propaganda. I go to the store and buy bacon and it's the same as American bacon except it has some delicious Canadian maple added to it. The truth is America is jealous of our superior maple bacon.

Ontario is #1 producer of maple syrup by a long shot but #2 is Vermont, Bernie's home state.

How else are you supposed to make poutine??

We also use the Master Measurement System Metric instead of clearly inferior Imperial Units.

But even then we're accommodating and will put MPH on our speedometers.

    Universal Healthcare.
Banks are on a smaller leash, which helped Canada during 2009.
Canada negotiate the price of drugs with pharmatical companies, which if why your republican party tried to pass a bill allowing your citizen to buy drugs on the Canadian market.
    Schools are less expensive.
Housing market in bigger cities are cheaper than american counterparts.
Corn syrup is actually disgusting while being garbage for your health, Maple syrup is actually good and has healthy values.
Milk and its product is regulated to a higher standard, therefore Canadian regular milk and diary product are more akin to the American higher standard versions. One of the many reasons Canadian diary industry refused the TPP.
Polices are less likely to shoot you.
Black Canadian are less likely to shoot you.
Comparable sized city in Canada generally have much lower crime rates across the board. Some even going as far as 0-1 murder a year for city in the 500-600k ranges.

Not entirely true. There are many variations on poutine, bacon is not entirely out of the question with poutine, and we use cheese curds instead of cheese sauce (less salt, but doesn't make up for the huge amount of carbs that are in poutine).
