Mythic Gul'dan Kill Video, Tier 20 Set Bonuses, Mage Class Mount Quest and Preview

    Patch 7.2 PTR - Build 23578

    Mythic Gul'dan Kill Video
Limit finally got the 5th (US 1st) Mythic Gul'dan kill, so Exorsus released their Mythic Gul'dan kill video today.

    Tier 20 Set Bonuses
The latest PTR build added Tier 20 set bonuses. Keep in mind that these haven't been tuned, some are missing, and some have already been changed.

Mage Class Mount Quest and Preview
The class mount quest lines were added in the latest build, allowing players to earn their class mounts. You can see all of the class mount models here.

Enhancement tier bonuses have got to be the worst i've ever seen. Nerf boulderfist and put it into your 2 set, 4 set buffing our already awful AoE. The irony being that the T19 4 set gives us 40% crits on SS. Even with a buffed CL, we always use it on CD when there's 2 mobs so they really have to be buffed immensely to outpower our previous tier.

Hard to find words for how incredibly unspectacular and lame that mage mount is.

    That's a Paragon-worthy kill video.

It's not a radar addon or anything ? just tracks Debuffs on a target. (or something similar).

Just my take, but that was a really well edited kill video. Entertaining as hell to watch! Grats to the best of the best.

I'd also like to know the addons used. I thought blizzard broke all AVR-type addons, but they clearly have addons highlighting players in the 3D environment with certain abilities (namely eyes/bonds/range/tanks, along with several things in the last phase). Good video tho, but if those addons are allowed, I'd like to use them for my guild.

its not an addon, they have frendly nameplates enabled and they whitelist the debuffs so those are the only things displayed on their heads, asuming thats what u mean

It is probably some kind of nameplate addon... you can hook things on them and they follow the players ...

Clever use of addons but i expect new limitations in that regard in the future. And to the players... you really want to play a game of watch the colored balls?

Also: I really liked the video. Great edit. Fun to watch. Also fun to watch is the SK Gaming vs Kil'Jaeden Video... music and voices at the end...

They broke all add-ons that could track range/radar, however these add-ons seem to be just visually marking (with circles) players who have a certain buff/debuff, which doesn't require radar functionality (as you can see the circles are always on players).

These addons are allowed but they arn't open to the public, exorsus (and many other top guilds) have personal addon makers on their roster (exorcus specifically thanked the guy in their post-WF interview) and they have a competitive interest in not releasing them.

Having said that, the vast majority of these kinds of add-ons are based on either a nameplate addon or are essentially a weakauras string from what I understand.

I think it's pretty clear this is the exact type of addon functionality blizzard has tried to block when they broke AVR and removed range # queries. In the end, you get the same functionality when it comes to range. Since you can still query what players are within a certain range (just not receive a #) and then highlight them with an orb on their nameplate, you get the same functionality as having a radar. The giant green lines across the screen in the last phase are even more blatantly against blizzard's addon functionality philosophy. I'm not saying ban em, or take away their kill, etc, but not releasing the addon after the kill just screams "we know this shit shouldn't be allowed". At least let the rest of the community use it before blizzard breaks it for the rest of us.

Mage mount designers need to go back to remedial design. The worst design for the class mount. Mages should have gotten the Storm Crow. I may do the quest but I'll NEVER use it just like I never got the panda flying disc.

The kill vid looked like mar'gok mythic on crack, that extra phase when guldan died and you had to face a pumped up demon within was awesome to view

Gul'dan was not even that hard, but at least Exorsus had the decency to not molest our ear cavities with shitty electronic music.

Those are all attaching to nameplates, most of those look like very simple things to do from the addon API, too. Certainly against the spirit of what Blizzard is trying to avoid having, but it's going to be almost impossible to break without either making nameplates inaccessible entirely to addons, or disabling a lot of functionality while in raid instance, combat, or raid boss combat.

Kinda surprised people don't like the mage mounts, I thought they were very cool. Nice spell effects for the orbs, cool trails, spec specific. I really like the idea of the mage scions on Malygos too, think its really cool. If only there was mounted combat, these things would be amazing XD

That mage mount is so gorgeous O_o Am really amazed about how well blizzard did it. I really like the difference between specs, would be nice if other class had so much work put into their mounts.

Exorsus video is also quite excellent. Congratz to them.
