Havoc demon hunter vs. Fury warrior

Hey guys and girls ! So I've been so torn between playing either havoc dh or fury warrior. I'm somewhat casual now because of my work schedule but for that reason as well I don't have time to keep of with both. Can anyone pitch to me as why I should main one or the other? Also I mostly PVE, very very rarely do I PvP. I love the fast paced nature of both and I also love they mobility they have. I'm just so torn between two great speccs!

It's your choice. For me, i prefer demonhunter all the time.

Historically warriors have almost never been in a bad spot. If you can only play one and don't have a preference you are better off sticking to warrior.

The idea I've always had is that fury for Pve and arms PvP right ? So that puts me in a good spot ... And dh has no history at all.

Actually Fury and Arms are both PVE und PVP now. Arms is one of the strongest ST specs in the game while Fury is very good at AoE (and awesome in mythics).
However, Havoc simply does everything a little bit better (in my opinion) and is much more mobile.

In general, i don't play a spec because he is currently the strongest. Gameplay wise dh isn't as boring as fury warriors imho. You have a great toolkit, very good mobility, nice burst AoE, strong ST. Double Jump & Wings as bonus makes some things way more comfortable.

Only downside is fury generation which can be frustrating without the right legendaries.

let me just say this (pve player. mythic raiding)

    at pull.
    Demon hunter is highest burst.
Fury warrior is near the demon hunter in burst.

During the fight, if there are adds: fury warriors has better tools (for both ST and AOE in same fight whereas DH has to specialise more with talents).

    End of fight:
warrior has the advantage with execute.

In all honesty. if you are going for pure raid performance at highest level, I find fury to be better. If you are going for fun, then you choose what you like best.

More mobile sure, but damage wise no, fury is alot better at cleave fights and targetswitching than havoc.

That simply is not true at all if you play the Demonic/Eye-Beam-Build on Havoc. You basically only have two abilities that do no cleave damage (Chaos Strike, Demons Bite) while all others do (Fel Rush, Blade Dance, Eye Beam, Glaive Throw, Fel Nova, even Metamorphosis does AoE Damage and helps with target switching...)
And if you want more Cleave damage (for whatever reason) you can still skill Fel Barrage.

I love fury, I really do (was my main from classic till legion and I still play it as my only alt) and there are definitely reasons to play fury over Havoc but this reasons have nothing to do with cleave or targetswitching.

Yeah but if you're going Demonic while raiding you're doing something wrong.

Nemesis target switching is aids for DHs. We're the kings of tunneling.

And what raidingboss except Skorpyron does demonic build beat the other?

Sure, everything is viable as far as you can use it.

The fact is any DH that can hold its weight will outDPS you in raids using the Nemesis build over a Demonic one.

Safe but good choice = Warrior, because it has 2 specs.

Risky buy good choice = DH, because only 1 spec.

So is momentum, fel eruption, and using Fel Barrage single target.

Demonic doing 150-200k less than nemesis spec? totally viable

  16. #16
Demonic doing 200k less than chaos blade rofl you don't know what you are talking about
As a 890 ilvl DH w/ raddons i sim only 30-40kdps less in demonic+nemesis than with chaos blades for ST fights
In reality 30-40kdps is very short because fucking with your rotation, or having bad rngesus will have much more difference than 30-40 kdps.

Also with demonic I had good logs in some multitarget fight in NH (top 7 / top 20 for eu dh havoc with the same ilvl)

Haha I dont know where we are going with this, It started with the guy saying havoc did everything a little bit better than fury warrior, which is not true. Obivously I just took 150-200k out of the air beacuse I don't even care about demonic DPS since I never see anyone playing it anyways

A lot of what some people here have written is not really correct.

    Let's first check single target:

DH's single target is very dependant on good RNG, as Demon's Bite simply isn't a viable option for raiding. If you have Anger ring, you're slightly better off but RNG is still here. Boy does it feel amazing when you Meta, CB and Neme and then just standing there looking at the boss. Since a huge part of the DH dps comes from his opener and cooldown stacking it's going to be frustrating at times. Either way, if you have ring, shoulders and CoF trinket (even LFR one, doesn't matter cause the effect is the same, only difference is the amount of agility) you're pretty much god mode especially with hero at pull. Otherwise, be prepared for occasional frustration, although when the stars align and RNG is good, it feels amazing. I don't play warrior so I don't know about his single target, but in my previous guild all the dude had was Draught and 4p and he was raping it as Fury. On single target. Yeah.

    Let's check the aoe:

DH's AoE is very tied to cooldowns unless you spec Demonic, which you never do in raids. It's a meme spec only good for killing trash (i.e. M+). So DH aoe is good if it's aoe like on Krosus, with adds spawning every minute or so, where you have your artifact and Eye Beam. Warrior on the other hand, has consistent aoe not tied to cooldown, and not tied to any resource cost at all. Unless it's a niche aoe every min or so, go warrior.

    Utility/mobility:

Utility wise warrior brings CS and DH brings Darkness. I'd give the edge to CS any day. However, DH brings atleast double the amount of mobility, aswell as great soaking capabilities with Netherwalk that also increases MS. And we have 2 frontal dashes and one backflip. So movement wise DH wins.

The purpose of this was to emphasize on specific performance differences between the two. Warrior is much more consistent and very minimally tied to RNG while DH is ALL ABOUT RNG. And that's coming from a DH main who really, really loves the class.
    Burn it. BURN IT!
