I've been trying to demonstrate for pages now that sex is used as a tool of asserting power by straight men over other straight men, but somehow people can't seem to wrap their head around it. The prison example is one I never thought of but it fits perfectly.

You won't see much anti-gay rhetoric in a lot of western/north euro right wing parties. Even the PVV(Wilders) has no anti-gay policies(but to be fair, all his policies fit on a single page). Only the SGP(extreme conservatives) do, our closest party to the American republicans, but they only got like 2 out of 150 seats.

To my knowledge there hasn't been a law based execution for homosexuality in as far as I can remember.

As for people who wouldn't want to risk getting their head chopped off, take my anecdotal evidence for what it's worth but I probably had more sex there on my last trip a few years back than I had had in the US in a long while.

People are openly using apps like Grindr (a hookup app) so take that as you will.
