Women Are Most Likely to Cheat at a Certain Age, New Study Says

Yeah, getting cheated on sucks, but it sucks a lot less if you know when to look out for warning signs. And thanks to a new study, we can tell you exactly when your wife might start toying with the idea of sleeping with another man behind your back.

According to the study, which was conducted by Victoria Milan, a dating site where married people go to cheat on their spouses, it was discovered that there are certain ages at which women are more likely to cheat, so you know precisely when to be extra careful and look out for those dreaded red flags.

First and foremost, the study crunched some numbers and found that the average age women marry at is 29 years old. Next, they found that the average age women cheat is 36.6 years old, which means the spark of fidelity and passion begins to dwindle about six to seven years after the wedding.

This whole cheating-after-seven-years thing actually makes sense, considering the age-old phrase, “The seven year itch.” Marilyn Monroe even made a movie about it, so you know it must be true.

Now, why would most marriages go to shit after just seven years? Is seven years the amount of time it takes for a woman to get bored of her husband? Does he lose interest after seven years, which consequently makes her lose interest, or something? Hmm...probably.

“Perhaps their husband is not giving them the attention and respect they deserve. Perhaps they still love their partners, but the spark has vanished from their marriage. Alternatively, they may have an open relationship, and both have affairs to satisfy their physical needs whilst still sharing a tight emotional bond," says Victoria Milan’s founder, Sigurd Vedal.

Like I said, most people get bored after seven years. Another study by yet another cheating site, IllicitEncounters.com, found that people are most likely to cheat on their partners when their age ends with a nine, so that’s 29; 39; 49, etc., which means they’re at the end of a decade of their life. And that probably means they cheat to relieve some sort of aging crisis.

You've been together for seven years and she's bored.
She's about to enter a new decade and she's freaking out about getting old.

Regardless of the source, I've heard the part about people acting out of form when their age ends with a 9 before.

It's not about cheating specifically, but people tend to make more drastic decisions at that age. Swapping jobs, going back to school, traveling, breaking up with their partners, whatever. It's pretty well documented. People freak out a bit about their lives when they're at the end of each decade.
