10 years of development on classes and specs..

And one expansion they decided to remake them all.
Do you think that's fair from Blizzard? I feel that most specs were at best in MoP. And this new "diablo team"? Ruined alot of specs and its identity.

Many specs plays similar, which doesnt make me feel unique anymore on many specs.

That's true, they seriously don't know what they're doing since GC left them.

I feel like they feel obligated to make something shiny and new every expansion for a class (new talents/new spell/ new animations something). It's probably hard to balance it all and they just remake everything they feel and then balance later on live like they have when this expansion launched doing a hotfix every 3-4 days for like 3 months of number tuning +10% / -10% +15% etc.

I mean if you main a class buy new expansion and you literally get nothing new about your class that would kind of suck for spending $50 right? All you'll get is some new model gear and new zone/area access. They should add just maybe 3 new spells for each class like in BC instead of total revamp I agree with that tho.

Welcome to... how many expansions ago? GC's "bring the player not the class" nonsense probably peaked in MOP. This isn't new, but it also seemingly isn't going anywhere soon. At least Ion has acknowledged they went too far with it.

They remake them every expansion. It's annoying as fuck tbh.

I think its shit now and that Legion is basicly ruined too much about the basic things as class gameplay

Ive tried a lot of Classes and specs this expansion and only WW Monk, Resto druid and guardian druid has felt good
I wanna play ranged dps but every spec ive played just have a big downside that ruins the enjoyment

Yeah up until Wotlk you could play the same class as the core of the class still remained. After that something happened and pretty much every class changed drastically from expansion to expansion, making it more or less impossible to keep playing what you liked.

This is one thing that blizzard always seem to have a problem with. I understand every xpac they want classes to feel fresh, but they literally completely redo every class and spec for no reason. All they have to do is just refresh and retool a bit here and there to make it feel fresh.

The whittling down of diversity in specs is most definitely the most significant reason for me leaving the game.

Bring the player not the class isn't a bad idea but it's still good to make a class well unique and different then other classes that are available. That and making them all viable(Which they should).

Yup, I even switched mains because of what they did to ENH Shammy in 7.1.5 to FDK.

The note from the Activision Quarterly Call that Legion was only slightly ahead of arguably the worst WoW expansion ever in WoD just stands out to me that something went terribly wrong with regard to the most content rich expansion ever in Legion, and I think the unpopular "class fantasy" changes are at the core of that disparity.

Mists was where it was at.

Pretty sure the class design of that expansion contributes to it being my favourite expansion.

The thing is for me personally if my main played the same now as he did in Wrath/Cata/ or MoP I would have 0 issues with that whatsoever. I picked this class and spec for a reason. To completely retool it every expansion is just stupid and a waste of time. Streamline some stuff? Ok. Smooth out some rough edges? Ok. Completely overhaul and destroy my class? Go f*ck yourself.

Wanted to add that when I buy a new expansion I am not buying it for the class changes. I dread that part so very very much. I buy it because I can't wait to dive into the new zones, do the the new achievements, find the new mounts, get some new mog gear, explore the new raids. All that jazz. New content. If I wanted a new playstyle then I would roll a different class...

In many respects, I respect the choice by the specialists at Blizzard to inspect every class and redesign specs from time to time. Sure its our job to spectate and speculate on the specifics of the changes and oftentimes we as fans offer specious arguments but fans are a strange species as you know.
TO FIX WOW:1. smaller server sizes & server-only LFG awarding satchels, so elite players help others. 2. "helper builds" with loom powers - talent trees so elite players cast buffs on low level players XP gain, HP/mana, regen, damage, etc. 3. "helper ilvl" scoring how much you help others. 4. observer games like in SC to watch/chat (like twitch but with MORE DETAILS & inside the wow UI) 5. guild leagues to compete with rival guilds for progression (with observer mode).6. jackpot world mobs.

I must be the odd one out in this thread. Legion itself was a good place but I still think we're miles ahead of where we were in wrath and that started in cata.

They redid them in TBC. Wrath. Cata. It's nothing new, the game would be incredibly boring if the classes played exactly the same from expansion to expansion. One of the reasons I play alts regularly is because they change and I want to experience the new way they work.

They went especially far in this case...and I was in the camp of one of the classes that most definitely needed serious work (rogues). I have no idea why they felt completely changing all the classes was such a great idea. Maybe it was Ion's way of imprinting his "direction" on the game; maybe it was planned by Ghostcrawler before he left.

Maybe they did enough this time to get it out of their damn system.
