    US Navy SEAL training

So let's say I wanted to do the required training to become a Navy SEAL but had no intentions of joining them. Like right now I'm a certified lifeguard even though I've never held a lifeguarding job before. Is this possible??

I think the training is cool and would like to experience something like it!

So you want the training and join ISIS then instead? Or what is your plan?

you could research some of the training techniques they use...and then do your best to copy them...but no, it isn't summer camp, you cannot just tag along for an ego boost

actually, you need to be more specific....

the training to become one? or the camp they attend to be tested before being invited to join? those are two different things.

You cannot get legit military training without actually joining the military, you need the misery and suffering that civilian run courses cannot provide.

You couldn't even do the training required to do a common footsoldier in most cases, unless you were wealthy enough for all the tech, expertise and staff for long periods of time.

You can work out to reach the physical requirements though.

USSOCOM or the Navy isn't going to waste the resources to train someone who isn't going move on if they can complete training. There are tons of guys chomping at the bit to be in a buds class, they aren't going to waste a spot on you.

I suppose you could join the coast guard, then qualify for the training, and drop out like the day before its over?

You will have to join the Navy to become a SEAL. In all actuality you will probably have to spend 2-4 years in the Navy before you could even apply for SEAL training.

You mean you need a trainer with legal authority to do things that otherwise would be illegal to you?

I would say, do some google searching on military contractor types of companies. They do a lot of training FOR our military even, and those are the types of people I would trust - OUTSIDE the norm: Highly trained friends/family etc

Does not work like that as they would reclass you into shittier role, you could always cripple yourself for a quick medical discharge but that kind of defeats the point in getting such specialist training to begin with.

I think what the OP is getting at is this question: Is there a civilian organization/business of some sort that (for a fee of course) provides the same training to civilians that SEALS get?

You can combine a few things and get the same results :

    Join a shooting club
    Go to the gym
And for the most important part, the atmosphere and comradery start hanging out at your local gaybar.

There are a few exercise programs you can find on the net that are designed to get you ready for the rigors of seal training. Do a quick Google search. It's about the best you're going to get.

No, the Coast guard are separate from the Navy in the US, and the Coast guard has a grandfather clause or whatever you are supposed to call it, so you would be back at the coast guard (presumably).

How does "cross force" thing work in the US? Can someone from eg. the Army or Marines apply for Navy SEAL's? Or if you've been in the Marines, can you join/apply to some Army job or training?

Yeah! I think the training looks cool and it would be interesting to get to experience it.

Just join the navy and sign up to be a seal. When you sign up for the military it's an open ended contract so you can get out any time you want. You just have to give them 30 days notice.
