And you know... China. THe biggest military expendiature in terms of procurement is Ships and things related to the Navy. It dwarfs the Army and Air Force procurement budget by far.

And who is rapidly building up their Navy? China.

US allies seem to be reacting to this in an expected way, which is to be extremely withdrawn while speaking to Trump regarding classified info, since he's proven that while he is legally able to share that information with anyone he wants, he lacks the intelligence to discern whether it is appropriate to do so. His actions have diminished the US in the eyes of foreign leaders, and have done nothing to benefit the country as a trade-off. It's a dumb, unforced error that could in no way serve anyone except for Trump and his ego. "What he's done is both legal, and extremely stupid" could basically describe Trump's entire life.

No all are relevant. You don't get to pick and choose. Dunford is the President's chief military adviser. Milley is the one in charge of rebooting the US Army from 15 years of counter-insurgency back to great-power style warfare. The US Military is far more concerned with Russia and China than it is with ISIS, and rightfully so.

So is this leaking information, or is this sharing information about an adversary to another group who shares that adversary? I mean... I get the fact that he probably relayed the information in a poor manner, a manner which risks outing our sources... but I think there is a difference between leaking information (which implies intention) versus sharing information about a threat to another country that would need information on that threat as well, but doing so in a poor fashion.

Turn the roles around, would we consider it bad if Russia came to us and said "we have strong intelligence on the ground that isis is attempting to get bombs on planes via laptops, we specifically heard this plot in the town of yadda-yadda, Syria"? The focus of this story, at least the title, is wrong. It should be, "Trump possibly exposes source while sharing of terrorist plot with Russia".

Of course this exposure, should be taken seriously, and he should be schooled on this. However, I do believe that the data we had SHOULD be shared with other countries to help them prepare.

The poll, the Democratic polling company Public Policy Polling, found that 48 per cent supported such a move, while 41 per cent opposed it.

The majority may support it, but the Constitution and law may have a different opinion and one which counts. At this point, the worse that will happen will be he will lose a reelection or the Democrats will regain control of Congress in 2018. That is the only realistic chances the Trump haters have. :P

B) Of course it means nothing to the people who would actually do that. A growing number of people probably support his execution, too, doesn't mean it's supposed to happen. We need investigations, hearings, that sort of thing.

I do not know what was declassified or even if it was. If he did, the part he declassified may have been good ( or at least some thought it was who are more qualified to make that determination than I am. ) if he wants help from the Russians in defeating ISIS.

What we do know is that it was sensitive enough that the administration requested to CNN that they withhold the details due to the fact it could reveal sources and methods.

Because it gives information about the source. Which means that this source could be extremely disinclined to give future intelligence, for fear of being put in danger. Keeping the identity of intelligence assets safe is incredibly important to the cultivation of good intelligence. If they don't think you've got their backs, they're not going to tell you shit.
