There's nothing wrong with Lili. She's a little annoying sometimes but that does not make her a bad character. As far as WoW characters go she actually has depth.

There are plenty of characters that have aged differently due to a mixture of gameplay and story.

Li Li hasn't aged much, but Anduin has. Nomi is now a teenager or a young adult. Moira's son is still an infant. The orphans from Children's Week have never aged - even with updated quests in Cataclysm. Plenty of other named children from Vanilla weren't changed in Cataclysm as well, as a matter of fact. Though, of course, there are quite a bit of varying levels of importance between all of these characters.

All in all, they won't age until they're super important again. Out of all the characters I've listed, the most important/shown is Anduin, with Li Li coming in second. She's actually had quite a bit of coverage since MoP, even having short stories and comics with her as the protagonist. They'll age her if she shows up more or has a bigger part to play. For now, fans of her seem to like her as she is now.
