Honestly I have no idea how you missed it. They practically beat you over the head with little hints here and there that ego wasn't some nice guy celestial and thought of all other life as less than gnats. Peter was different though because he could've been another celestial and his obsession with propagating himself was also beat into your brain. He greatly preferred and even wanted peters willing help but by no means was he against taking it. The fact that he was so full of himself he didn't get why peter wouldn't bothered by him killing everyone but especially his mother is fully in keeping with his established character. He neither understood or considered killing his mom to be a big deal and was absolutely confident Peter was not a threat at all. There was no reason for ego to withhold info either and plenty of evidence that by bragging about his plans in his mind he was making a convincing case.

Endus is right you missed a pretty horribly obvious part of the movie.

They beat you over the head with him being an asshole...like I already said. He was not, however, portrayed as being stupid and wanting to actively go AGAINST his desire to have Peter work with him(which seemed to be a legitimate desire) by revealing what he did to Peter's mom and assuming he'd just go along with it. The whole movie was him trying to break down Peter's feelings for "lesser" beings, trying to convince Peter he was superior, and it was obvious to a fucking child of 3 that Peter wasn't at that point for his big reveal, and the movie made it pretty fucking obvious that Ego is smarter than a child of 3. But feel free to try again?

If we beleve wiki the movie did cost $149 million, hence it need to make about $300 million to break even, and have pulled in $289 million (10 juni)

So it will break even, but it will not be a big economic succe. But DVD/merchandises will bost the ernings....so maybe a bit better then break even will be seen as good...

I agree, saw it yesterday and it's my top DC movie. Hard to judge vs all comic movies, but it hit the elements I expected in a satisfying manner. Sure I predicted Ares right away, but that didn't detract from anything.

If only we (the Allies) had some half-naked chick with a bullet proof shield and who could Spartan jump, WWI would have been a cakewalk (talking about the no mans land scene in the movie).

I'm sorry, but I found this film a bit disrespectful to those who actually fought in the Great War.

Except it wasn't successful at all. Even the Director said it wasn't but he still said he plans on making a sequel at some point.

In fact, it brought to light a war that rarely gets screen time these days. Good on them for not just making another WW2 movie.
yeah. the biggest threat in the movie wasnt even resolved by WW herself. she served well as the "catalyst" of the movie.

She was slim because it was green screened that way. She was 5 months pregnant during the filming of the movie.

I liked it. Definitely the best DC movie so far. On par, but IMO not better than the Marvel movies. It's box office success(was gonna be a success regardless, but even more so) definitely benefited from the whole "girl power" thing

    Like what, all of them?

Lol, it can easily compete with the best of Marvel's. I'd say it's only behind GotG.

It easily ranks among the top Marvel movies to me.

I'm still trying to figure out why Steve had to fly the plane into the air and blow himself up. Wouldn't releasing the gas higher up make it spread farther? If the fire from the explosion destroyed the gas, couldn't they have done that on the ground?

I don't think he was going to rampage...if I recall he couldn't. He could only influence.
Which does beg a few questions in addition to the one above your post.

And I'd say GotG itself is behind Winter Soldier, Avengers, and Civil War, and just BARELY edges ahead of Avengers 2.

I assume the blast destroyed a lot, rather than a more controlled dispersal explosion. Exploding higher up means wider but weaker as well.

It's true, if we had a demigod with magical artifacts, it really would have given us the edge. Did you complain about Watchmen/ Vietnam as well?

I'm sorry, but I found this film a bit disrespectful to those who actually fought in the Great War.
It was pretty clear that the movie was just before the end of the war. She fought in one battle, freed one village, which was then destroyed. Steves line about not moving the line for a year is a pretty accurate account of most of the fronts.

Besides which it was 100 years ago, so I mean... whatever. You can certainly be offended on the part of your forefathers, but the vast majority of us won't see it.
