Ideally, the pick ends up being a later round one since with the D core they've just assembled we SHOULD be able to squirm into the playoffs and beyond. But there's always the possibility of injuries and shit, maybe Mike Smith blows and we end up missing the playoffs and the picks end up being top 10, start of the 2nd round ect. Giordano, Hamilton, Brodie, Hamonic is a sick D unit, I really hope Gio doesn't pick now to start regressing though.

Fuck that, we got him for a steal by trading the lowly Luke Schenn to the Flyers, who will probably still miss the playoffs this coming year btw. Considering how JVR has produced for us, I wouldn't be trading him unless it's for higher value return. Fleecing other teams seems to be the best way to do business

Would have been a fair trade IMO. As much as I love JVR I have no doubt we could have used a present top pairing RHD.
