Wait so... they don't want the sites blocked in Canada, they just want Google to de-list them from their search engine?

Which presumably they could do in a Canadian localisation of Google if they wanted to anyway.

Yah, as I read the article the bad guy is datalink for selling products that aren't their own cheaper.

Also, can't we just use Bing or another search engine to find those pirated datalink products anyway?

In the end, this chili only has two beans: making things more difficult for normal people, and allowing corporations to control what people find.

i imagine the way this works out in practise is all searches on google from canadian IP adresses will not return the result, and all non-canadian IP adresses do return the result.

it's a bit silly way to go about it thought, most other countries just maintain a list of banned sites ISPs have to enforce.
