Yah, as I read the article the bad guy is datalink for selling products that aren't their own cheaper.

Also, can't we just use Bing or another search engine to find those pirated datalink products anyway?

In the end, this chili only has two beans: making things more difficult for normal people, and allowing corporations to control what people find.

Both are massive highways to hell for all. But are they as big as the lone highway to hell called piracy? who knows.

I'm guessing all the other pirate services need to be blocked world wide then.

i imagine the way this works out in practise is all searches on google from canadian IP adresses will not return the result, and all non-canadian IP adresses do return the result.

it's a bit silly way to go about it thought, most other countries just maintain a list of banned sites ISPs have to enforce.

So many "liberals" there anyway that the mistake is understandable.

Although in this case the request might be somewhat justified, it might also create a dangerous precedent. What shall be banned next and on what basis? Real reason or a political excuse?

I'm really scared about the future of the internet. Governments and big businesses seem eager to tear it apart for politics and money.

Fascist Canada for what ? It's a ruling about torrent sites and delisting them.

And FTR, yeah, you totally can block content with laws that almost encourage you to go around them. It's infinitely stupid, but as a French Canadian, I can't buy French ebooks from Amazon.Fr

In the current case, the whole article can be summed up as ''illegal music sharing sites must be delisted''. I sort of thing that the US are not exactly open with that either...

China licking them lips if Google buckles on this one.

Wow! So one company sued another and won and now the winner wants to use google to punish loser.

    That doesn't seem right.

Lovely... nothing I love more then witnessing the first steps in having my door kicked in and arrests for half a decade like Germany for "hate" speech.

I do not want censorship or control... I just wanna be free that isn't so much to ask for is it?

Internet blockage is biggest joke ever. There are so many easy ways to access whatever you want.
