Living in pain is different than wishing death, if the kid is unable to make this decision then it should be given to the parents or legal guardians. I'm yet to see why the state should be the one making the call here.

    Seriously.. Stop this bullshit.

It is not fucking relevant to the case.

The kid is not just in pain.. If that was the case, you would have had a point.
This kid does not have any fucking quality of life. How is this so hard for you to understand?

The kid is unable to move, he can not see, he can not hear.. He is brain damaged and will never be able to learn or understand what is happening to him..

If he even managed to develop any real conscience, he is locked inside his own mind, scared and in pain..

He will never function normally, he will never have any quality of life..

Why the fuck do you insist of repeating that nonsense about pain, when it is not relevant.

Stop using "emotions" and thinking about how sad it must be for the parents.. It is not fucking relevant.

Think of the damn kid, think of his situation objectivly.. If you peopled stop using emotions and religion, maybe you could realize that prolonging the life of this kid.. Is god damn torture.

The parents raised the money. The problem is the state is god to the pro-baby-murder people here. The parents are trying to fight the odds, people have made it through worse chances.

The pro-baby-murder people here are desperate to take authority away from the parents, because there's a small chance the procedure could do something and would make the baby murderers look foolish.

This case is multi-layered cake of authoritarian shit - violation of parental authority, the state having the power of life and death over children, worship of technocrats as all-knowing and infallible, etc.

No they have not.. The kid doesn't have a chance..

I'll repeat myself again, because you idiots doesn't seem to get this fact.

THE KID HAS NO QUALITY OF LIFE.. HE NEVER WILL HAVE.

    The kid can not move
    The kid can not see
    The kid can not hear
The kid is brain damaged and will never be able to understand or learn ANYTHING.

He is a doll for his parents, stuck in a bed until he dies.

If that is a life you want, I really hope it happens for you.. Most be soo awesome, right?

Fuck I am happy my parents are not such nutjobs, that would torture me like you would that kid.

I know you people have no value for life, but I wasn't born yesterday, in fact, I remember how people lied about Schiavo being completely unawares when she was seen on video responding to her family.

No one has survived with this disease, NOT A SINGLE CHILD. They rarely survive to adolescence. Irreversible damage has already been done to the child. His brain has been damaged beyond what human medicine can mend.

Again, a situation that has absolutly nothing to do with the one in this thread..

    Repeating again.

    The kid is in pain
    The kid can not move
    The kid can not see
    The kid can not hear
The kid is brain damaged and will never be able to understand or learn ANYTHING

This isn't up to debate.. This is facts about his current condition and the stage of his disease.

All you are doing, is torturing a kid that can never know what is happening or why.
You don't fucking get more despicable than that.

The year is 2017. There are still people out there that believe that Terry Schiavo was fully conscious, despite her brain being 1/3 of its natural size, and that Iraq had WMDs.

Terri Schiavo suffered severe, irreversible brain damage that left that organ discolored and scarred, shriveled to half its normal size, and damaged in nearly all its regions, including the one responsible for vision, according to an autopsy report released yesterday.

Although the meticulous postmortem examination could not determine the mental state of the Florida woman, who died March 31 after a judicial and legislative battle over her "right to die," it did establish the permanence of her physical condition.

Schiavo's brain damage "was irreversible . . . no amount of treatment or rehabilitation would have reversed" it, said Jon R. Thogmartin, the pathologist in Florida's sixth judicial district who performed the autopsy and announced his findings at a news conference in Largo, Fla.
It's heartbreaking but she was gone years before she was allowed to die.

Even if there was a religion of doctors, I'm not sure what's particularly wrong with it compared to competition. And I wouldn't throw accusations of religiously adhering to something when your partisanship is so immense your reason (or at least one of the reasons) for believing Pizzagate is liberals denying it being real.

I've pretty much lost all sympathy for the parents at this point. Keeping that child alive as it is, burning thousands and millions of dollars to keep a bunch of cells in a semi-functioning state because you simply can't let go of life is just sad. This is the problem with our current state of technology; We can save some of them, but we can't save all of them.

Their child dying will allow them to realize this, like my father dying on an operating table taught me as I'm sure loss of life has taught many others that technology and experts can't do everything. Yet.

The sad part is when the government cares more about the child's safety and well being than the parents. They just want him to "live" with a terminally ill disease with no cure, no solid treatment while he is being kept alive with pretty much machines.
Honestly the parents are those kinds of people that would try to rescue a half run over raccoon from the road as a pet, rather than put it out of its misery. It's the same kind of unfortunate mixed with stupidity.

The autopsy showed there was nothing left of that poor women, if I remember correctly among the many things she was suffering with, she was cordially blind which means the part of her brain the deals with vision was dead.

Whatever you think she saw, she didn't...

I mean do you want to try and save this fish?

It's moving, I mean if I cut a video together (and that's exactly what the family did, hours of footage of her not doing what they ask cut away leaving just the small times it looks like she was...) of me standing over it saying 'come on, move for me' would you try and claim it was responding to me?

12 years and an actual autopsy, which proved the doctors correct, and people are still trying to peddle this absolute rubbish?

All i see here are parents unable to make the right and hard choice, willing to hang on to their child while it suffers endlessly and pointlessly merely so the parents can spend another day, yes it takes a strong person to go for euthanasia, something these parents are no longer able and yes i find the stance of the parents to be fairly selfish.

And i find the American doctors and specialists who sold the parents on a treatment in this regard to get another subject for their tests to be absolutely vile human beings. Than again ethics is an alien word in the land of the free when money comes into play.

The parents made it a public matter when they went to the public for funding about it, they turned this into that. I know it's hard to accept that little fact.

The doctors can get plenty subjects, if you don't see anything wrong with trying to get a person from another country with a lot of financial backing behind it as a very questionable ethics issue, that's on you not on me. Not to mention if the person is that far gone that they are considering euthanasia generally testing treatments for such incurable diseases don't start when it advanced that far in, another ethics matter.

Than again nothing surprises me anymore from certain people.

I think the parents went public because of the shock of hearing from the hospital that they have no say in life support continuing. I can understand that to some degree.
Last I heard they had 1.8 mil in online donations, thats not alot considering the costs involved for the childs life support and other treatment. I think the parents have enough financial support and at this point want to try until the end, rather than pull the plug. Again, I can understand the logic and niether agree or disagree about it. The U.S. hospitals are saying they will take him and try what they can, if allowed....how is that unethical? In America we have free choice and its completely normal for us here to agree that the parents should be able to prolong his life to try other methods even if he is a vegie.
