These g20 summit protests have gone on every single year, no matter where they take place and no matter if it's a left or right administration in office. I have never really understood those as far as protests go. Usually protesting involves some sort of specific complaint or goal. But these are just...generally disliking government and business. So it's always felt like a protest for anarchy and wanting to live in a cabin in the woods.

I wonder how people come to that conclusion. Whos cars do they think are burning there? Do they think Audi, BMW or Mercedes will replace those cars out of their own pockets? No, it will be insurances and private pockets that will have to pay the bill.

Yeah and guess where the money it costs to travel those distances comes from? Of course the offical statement of those organisations is that they are there to protest peacefully against inequality and poverty. But no one is checking their bags, no one even wants to look closely if its not black hoodies and facemasks they are packing. There is no control of member activity, if individuals misbehave and get caught, the people organizers refuse any form of responsibility.
And yes, the money comes from foundations that get funded by taxes. Usually because these organisations proclaim to fight some straw-boogey-man right "wing extremism".
