    Do you understand the opposition?

Can you describe the motivations of the opposition, understand why they believe what they do and do the things they do? Right or left, conservative or liberal?

In your opinion what are the goals and motivations of the opposition?

This TED talk is pretty good, he crams a lot of stuff into 15 minutes but one of the things he talks about is how in many Asian religions there is no right and wrong there just is.

So if you can pretend for a moment that you are Bhudda and there is no right or wrong, take a step outside the bubble and look at both the left and right not judging them just trying to understand them.

He mentions Bhuddism in the video.

The idea is that if you truly can understand the other side you'll be less angry at them.

Bhuddism was always the choice of libatards, hippies and other hipsters, therefor I am not going to watch it, especially because it's TED...

Not really. A large portion of them subscribe to a religion that's based on helping the poor, weak, and sick. It also is a major proponent of not judging people. They seem to hate all the groups they're supposed to help and seem to judge everything they possibly can.

Yes, left is like the perfect enemy to me, they are everything Im not. I stand for individuality, independence. Basically the concept of " youre born, grats, do whatever you want.. but wait, there are beings that share your genome who for some reason think you owe them something, well thank god for 50cal guns"

That's amazing coming from you. You have a habit of not reading posts and attacking posters head on.

I don't have a full understanding of the right and left but I do understand that they do have very strong points on a lot of issues. They may not be backed up by things I agree with but you have to take that into consideration when you argue with them.

The issue is that any good opposition must be progressive one.

About the USD case, both side are ridiculously acting up to cater to everyone they can to get the numbers... At some point you need a 3rd and 4th party to cater to those idiots. And that will solve the issue.

You have an interesting definition of "left" here. Are you sure you dont talk about individuality and collectivity?

Left-wing politics supports social equality and egalitarianism, often in opposition to social hierarchy and social inequality. And if you talk about social hierarchy, it seems the right wing isnt a good place for your as well then. You know, fascism is about one leader who enlaves his people. Are you sure you want to be right wing in that context?

Yes, they believe spending more money on things and handouts and redistribution are the answers to our problems. They're dead wrong.

Well that explains it: anything to the right is facist.
Populists (and "national socialists") look at the supposedly secret deals that run the world "behind the scenes". Child's play. Except that childishness is sinister in adults.

Right, the correct answer to social inequality with billionaires on the one side and people who work 13 hours a day without being able to feed their children doing so surely isnt the distribution of wealth, but to vote billionaires into office and make them even more rich!

Only the plague is able to fight cancer successfully!

    Or.. isnt it?

I mean.. when society suffers from neo liberalism.. the best way is to allow rich people to install even more neo liberal laws!

I sometimes miss logic when its about american righ wingkin attitudes.

Well look at it this way. My boyfriend always talks about Morrowind and how awesome it was but he also mentions that Telvanni guy in Gnisis. Im kinda like that. My ancestors where here first, I was here first, I want nothing to do with your "civilization", just leave me alone. Im right wing cause essentially Im like I dont care, leave me alone.. I dont care about your causes. But if you wont, Im gonna join the one who opposes you cause the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

I agree, handing out money to the rich won't make jobs appear, the sea levels from rising, cure diseases, ect

Yes, my family claims to be part of that religion too. They just preach it rather than practice it. Which seems very common.

I didnt say that. I just showed that right wing extremism leads to the same as left wing extremism.

Sure it isn't too hard to see where the opposition comes from, they essentially tax and spend to improve, protect and uplift the weakest and most exposed in our society. And I'm not particularly opposed to a lot of it in a purely ideological aspect, it is more often the implementation that tends to be where the issues arise.

Interesting video but Haidt has newer talks with more recent information. On his 2008 charts he would need to add another category to the left of liberals. Lefties with illiberal principles.
