16 year old German teen who joined ISIL captured by Iraqi forces in Mosul

Teenage Isil bride from Germany captured in Mosul

A 16-year-old German Islamic State bride, who reportedly joined the jihadist group after being radicalised online, has been captured by Iraqi forces in the ruins of Mosul.

Linda Wenzel, from the small town of Pulsnitz, near Dresden, was discovered by troops with a group of 20 other suspected foreign female Isil members in a tunnel under the Old City on Thursday.

Pictures shared on social media (see link below - no worries, nothing shocking to see) show the girl being escorted by security forces, appearing pale and unveiled but wearing a colourful scarf around her neck.

She grew up in a Protestant family, and had not showed any interest in religion until a few months before her disappearance. In the spring of 2016 she told her parents for the first time that she was interested in Islam.

I guess she was lucky to surivive at all.
The question here is; what now? Should she be taken back to Germany?

She probably married 18 husbands, widowed 18 times.

She was used to being widowed, like changing a phone provider.

Ofc she should be taken home......

Then put on trial to find out what she's done, what she's said - even the smallest thing could have consequences then sentenced accordingly. No one should be allowed to come back punishment free if they've gone over. Again that punishment should be as severe as what they've done. Gone over there and been a part of a murder or sat in and listened to plans prior to successful attacks? Locked up throw away the key, done fuck all except being there and married off? Short term sentance and the psychological help you might need

But if you're old enough to fly independently out and find these people, your old enough to stand trial

It is not clear whether Linda and the other women will be held in Iraq or deported back to Germany to face trial.
Let her rot in the hole they found her in. We don't need more of this type of scum in Germany.

She's still a citizen of Germany. If she wants to go back to Germany then there is no base to stop her. Of course, she should be under surveilance.
If there is no evidence of her committing any crime then she can't be put before court. There is not much that can be done here. The most they could do is leave her there and make her go back on her own ^^
I have enough of EA ruining great franchises and studios, forcing DRM and Origin on their games, releasing incomplete games only to sell day-1 DLCs or spill dozens of DLCs, and then saying it, and microtransactions, is what players want, stopping players from giving EA games poor reviews, as well as deflecting complaints with cheap PR tricks.

I'm not going to buy any game by EA as long as they continue those practices.

So because she's white and they're muslims less PC about their beliefs than Christians or Jewish faith?

Ill agree this more than fucked up though. However if she was old enough to travel there what's the issue?

Isis returners face the charges of being member of a terroristic organization which is punished by one to ten years of prison in Germany. Even with the application of juvenile law chances she is being sent into a "youth rehabilitation facility" is rather high.
And she can be lucky to be sent back to Germany, they might as well trial her for terrorism in Iraq.

If she does go back I'd hope she went through some long therapy, but just short of killing her I don't see locking her up for the rest of her life as reasonable either. Sometimes there is no good options. I'm sure she broke a few laws so jail/therapy and put her on a watch list. IMO.
Probation and community service. A lot of community service.

If I was the judge (as long as she fully cooperates and forsakes ISIS):

(this is unless a killing/ beating can be directly attributed to her. If that is the case then she has to face charges related to that)

    Probation on the following terms:

    1) She has to stay in school

    2) No misbehaving

    3) She has to donate one weekend day each week to helping veterans that were injured in these conflicts until she is 21 or at least 4 years.

    4) Civil penalty (to be paid by her or family and to be donated to armed soldiers injured in these conflicts) TBD by judge/jury depending on the details of her service to ISIS.

    If she doesn't forsake ISIS:

    1) stays in Iraq and is treated as an enemy combatant.

    If she breaks probation:

    1) tried as enemy combatant.

she, along with any other sympathizers, should suffer whatever punishment iraq has for that.

she's in their country, let them deal with it.

How quick the internet is to sentence impressionable children to death...

    Talk about disgusting
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

She is lucky they didnt behead or mutilate her like they do with some other captured isis members.

I would have her sentenced by the iraqi justice system, whatever that is.

Being a member of ISIL is itself a crime in Germany as far as I'm aware, and she will certainly have to appear in court and face charges.
There is no death sentence though and now that she was taken prisoner Germany would certainly protest if she was killed.

Why would I care about the fate of a Iraqi citizen?

...and she will claim she was not a member. It is impossible to prove.
