Forsaken too busy playing with dogs in Stormheim to keep their new prince pet on a leash. Stromgarde belongs to the Ebon Blade now. (I gave it to Nazgrim as a playground. He does so love doing his darth vader impressions there).

But Danath Trollbane is still around, and I reckon that he as the last living member of the Trollbane dynasty is the rightful heir to Stromgarde.

There king now is deathknight and is closer to being on the same path as Sylvanas.

I'd be really OK with this. The Alliance needs a foothold above the Thandol Span, badly; Refuge Pointe isn't cutting it now that Southshore has been plaguebombed into oblivion, Andorhal is in limbo, and most of Lordaeron is split between the Argent Crusade/Silver Hand and the Forsaken. Stromgarde would also be a big symbolic victory, as it was one of the more influential kingdoms of the Grand Alliance of Lordaeron. We know Danath is still around, so the Trollbane line needn't be broken (although he isn't a Trollbane by blood, the name can still be carried on).

As to how, well, Genn's got nothing better to do. Give him some troops, stage the battle out of Ironforge, and send troops and adventurers to the north to retake it. It should be pretty empty after the Ebon Blade went through and cleared out all of Galen's men to get at his father's corpse to make him one of the Four Horsemen of the Ebon Blade.

The Ebon Blade (including Trollbane) show little to no interest in occupying Stromgarde. At best, right now there may be a token Forsaken force occupying it to discourage the Stromgarde survivors at Refuge Pointe from swooping in and bunkering down to make reclaiming it for the Forsaken a bitch and a half.

Would rather see us push back the forsaken and restore South Shore. Only way I get to see/enjoy it now is to enter Escape from Durnholde and ride south.
