aw fuck, nvm. Just look at the idiot currently in office.

Bernie 4 years down the road as POTUS would be a huge upgrade for the US.

Obamacare was Universal Health Care? First time I've heard that one.

Do you understand what clogging means? It means obstructing and preventing proper flow. Yes plenty of dumbasses go to the emergency room for ridiculous shit, and far far more of them were born and raised here. They get to wait too while serious cases are seen, and they get recommended they piss off and go to a walk-in clinic.

If they want to wait 14 hours and hope for a break in the real cases, they're free to do that. They aren't getting in anyone's way.

Obamacare isn't universal healthcare, so my point still stands. And no, the middle class didn't get hurt by obamacare, they got hurt by conservative lawmakers actively trying to sabotage obamacare to spite obama.

Universal Health Care is generally a good thing. The major dangers of it is the State may develop a keen desire to regulate everything you do, which isn't good AND/OR the incentives for care will shift away from the family and things could be effected by our eventual diminishing tax base due to population contraction.

But even if the State starts regulating health, in the case of most Americans, would it be such a bad thing if Uncle Sam forced some of these people to get some damn exercise and maybe eat a salad once and awhile?

Interesting. I did a "ctrl+f" search, and didn't find the word "awe" anywhere in the article.

    More hyperbole from tennisface.

I'm more "awed" that it takes so long to ban him than anything going on in Canada.

My last/only uninsured ER visit (poor student at the time, go me) cost $12,000 dollars. Two bags of saline, one shot of morphine, and a CT scan to confirm a kidney stone. That's about what I was making annually at the job prior to college (worked at a public school, so no kids = no pay. Breaks were hard), so I say bring on the fucking Canadian model ASAP. Last I read, most of the people who declare bankruptcy due to medical expenses (which, fun poll: how many people do that in other countries?) were insured, but couldn't keep up with the copays, deductibles, and uncovered expenses regardless.

So, to repeat: fuck it. Bring on Canada.

While I detest Tennis and his posts, I can't in good conscience defend the American health care system. It's an abomination.

My mother has a condition that apparently no doctor can diagnose and all they keep doing is sending her for one test after another, over and over, the same tests and specialists, like they're farming her insurance/funds while she goes into her 10th year of suffering. Her medical costs are ridiculous. We finally got her on insurance (which is $1300/month, mind you), and before that, one simple trip to the ER with abdominal pain went over $10,000, for about 45 minutes in a bed, an ultrasound, and no answers.

12,000 for a kidney stone? Only cost me a couple grand and I live in California and I had no insurance. You're full of shit.

While I agree that figure is exaggerated, yours is still ridiculous. Not unbelievable, but it shouldn't be thousands of dollars for that.

Not like it does in Canada. People in Canada wait months, even a year or more for a surgery. Not saying parts of Canada's health system isn't good, because there are good parts. But there are downsides to every system.

Why not? Depends on the hospital and what it provides. I'm amazed how people understand there are cheap and expensive restaurants but can't seem to understand that there are cheap and expensive hospitals. Some people want different things. If you live in that once forgotted shack in Beverly Hills don't be amazed if a operation at your "local" hospital costs tens of thousands of dollars, that's the market there catering to to the rich people. Just go to a different hospital and you will be fine.

Wrong, its anti-middle class, anti-business, anti-choice and so on.
We should have a 100% capitalistic healthcare with lots of choices so middle class families will spend less money for a better plan.

Who says I dont like the base concept of Communism? On paper its great, in practice not so much. Perhaps learn some reading comprehension before opening your mouth about things that are clearly beyond your ability to understand.
